Line of Authority – top to bottom

  • God – created man
    • Declaration of Independence (“…Nature’s God entitle them…”)
    • Texas Constitution Preamble (“Humbly invoking the blessing of Almighty God, the people of the State of Texas do ordain and establish this Constitution.”)
  • We the People – created the states
    • US Declaration of Independence: “We the People in order to form a more perfect union…”
    • Texas 1876 Constitution, Article I: “SEC. 2. All political power is inherent in the people and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit.”
  • States – man created the states (“…deriving just powers from the consent of the governed…”)
  • Federal Government – states created federal government (see definition of republican form of government elsewhere in this document)

Underlying principles supporting the first three are found in the Declaration of Independence

Duty of Government

Declaration of Independence http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_transcript.html

“…That to secure these [unalienable] rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

Constitution of the State of Texas (1876) http://tarlton.law.utexas.edu/constitutions/text/IART01.html

ARTICLE I, SEC. 2

“All political power is inherent in the people and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.”

Form of Government

U.S. Constitution – Article IV, Section 4 http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#A4Sec4

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Texas Constitution – ARTICLE I, SEC. 2 http://tarlton.law.utexas.edu/constitutions/text/IART01.html

All political power is inherent in the people and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.

Do you know? Democracy or democrat appear NO WHERE in either the US or Texas Constitutions.

What is a republican form of government?

republic n 1 : a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and is usually a president; also : a nation or other political unit having such a government 2 : a government in which supreme power is held by the citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives governing according to law; also : a nation or other political unit having such a form of government Source: NMW

Agencies of Government

What is an agent or agency?

WordReference.com: an agent is “person that provides a particular service, typically one organizing transactions between two other parties.” An attorney, someone with power of attorney, an ambassador, theatrical agent – someone with authority from you to act on your behalf

FBI Agents are not agents they are SPECIAL agents – special meaning, specific assignment, specific and limited authority.

TSA Agents are neither agents of the federal government nor are they sworn law enforcement officers. They have no power to arrest anyone.

A general agent of the federal government would have all the authority of all three branches of government.

At the conclusion of WW2 in the Pacific Theater, General Douglas MacArthur was authorized as an agent, a special agent, of the US Government to negotiate the surrender of Japan aboard the battleship Missouri. Later, assuming he was an agent, an unlimited agent, of the U.S. government, he attempted to declare war on North Korea, by extension on Russia, North Korea’s ally. At this point, Truman yanked him from command and fired him.

Influence on Government

http://www.opensecrets.org/ Research political donations in a number of ways. Learn which PAC’s and industries give to Democrat vs. Republican candidates.

For example: unions give over 80% to Democrats, businesses give mostly to Republicans, banks and real estate give pretty much equally to both.

Texas Ethics Commission http://www.ethics.state.tx.us/main/search.htm Search monthly throughout political season to learn who the big donors are, to whom they give money, etc.

Be particularly sensitive to donations under the names “Joe Straus”, “Retama Entertainment Group”, “Mostyn”, “democrat”, “democratic”. Take time with this site to learn all the ways you can look up information.

ANY candidate accepting money from gambling interests (Mostyn, Retama, Straus) should be considered suspect RINO. This is not always the case, but most often is. RINO’s get the larger contributions.

For example: Jodie Laubenberg received modest sum from Joe Straus ($2,500), but voted conservative. Linda Harper Brown received a large sum ($15,000) and voted with the Democrats.

Action You Can Take

  • Read founding documents – frequently
  • Research candidates
  • Register voters or help them get registered
  • Share what you learn with others via Twitter, Facebook, email, telephone conversations

Be factual. Don’t take email rumors at face value. You only have to pass on a rumor ONCE to invalidate your influence.
