First of a little disclaimer – I am not a Mitt supporter. My choice was, and is, Rick Perry.

Left to right, news people and political rivals from both sides of the political spectrum clamored for Mitt to disclose his tax returns. Now that he has, they feed like piranhas on fresh meat.

Now I ask: Has Mitt broken any laws? No, he has not. He paid the going rate for capital gains. Ah! Now there’s the problem, isn’t it? You jealous, envious jackasses (pardon my French) discovered the tax rate on capital gains is far less than the tax rate on earned income. Yes, that’s correct and it’s a tax advantage available to every citizen and legal resident of this country.

Barack Hussein Obama and the radical-left Democrats are your enemies, not the present panel of Republican candidates. You see, we Republicans disagree by degrees. Our disagreement with the radical left is polar, exact opposite.

For a while, just a little while, let’s let go of the class-envy thing and focus on evaluating, vetting candidates based on their records, not what they promise. Align yourself with a candidate who best reflects your worldview, your principles and your sense of values.

Let’s CELEBRATE life in a country where anyone willing to take risks can prosper and, gasp, yes, get rich.

Electability isn’t a word found in the Constitution. It’s a term pumped out by the media, including Fox News. Don’t believe me? Let’s ‘google’ it. Ready? …… How many times does this word appear in a broad Google search? – I got 987,000 hits on 1-17-2012 at 0637 hours CST.

The reason you hear this word repeatedly used by news media is they are picking candidates for you. Let me put it another way: the news media ‘talking heads’ are telling you desperate Republicans which candidate to vote for and they are getting away with it because Republicans are desperate to find the anti-Obama candidate.

Once upon a time there was a Republican candidate who stood firm on Constitutional issues and solid conservative values. His opponent was ‘the anointed one’ propped up by the GOP establishment. This anointed opponent was touted by the media as the more electable candidate. Somehow, folks like me looked past electability and voted for a man who stood for upholding the Constitution as written by the founding fathers – we voted for Ronald Reagan. We voted our values.

Choose Wisely

My first Republican ballot was for Ronald Reagan. Like most Texans, I thought the Democrat Party represented me. Jimmy Carter changed all that. Carter’s policies caused the American economy to go into a stall, then a tail spin. Interest rates ran as high as 18%. Back then, economic instability introduced the variable-rate mortgage that closely mirrors today’s subprime mortgage failures.

If George H. W. Bush (Bush 41), Mr. Electable, had ascended to President before Reagan, we would probably have gone down the fiscal toilet long ago.

At this moment, the media touts two Republican candidates as most electable: Romney and Santorum, two politicians with track records of facilitating big government. Track records tell the true story about them, they are statists.

On the other hand, two of our Republican candidates stand for small federal government, Constitutional values and federalism. Coincidentally, they are both Texans: Rick Perry and Ron Paul.

Bloomberg reported yesterday Obama’s chilling remarks. A previous statement of the president of dubious citizenship also comes to mind:

“It’s time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.”

Perhaps it’s time to pull out the old dictionary so there be no misunderstanding.

Fundamental – “of or serving as a foundation or core; of central importance”

Foundation, central importance – isn’t he targeting our Constitution? Yes, indeed he is. So far, in part thanks to George Bush, he has successfully dismantled two of our first Ten Amendments: One and Four.

Whatever your traditional voting history or that of your family, it’s time for Americans to stand against fascism. Okay, okay, okay – I know, it’s politically incorrect to use words like “fascism”, “socialism”, “communism” and “tyranny” when speaking about you-know-who.

How refreshing. Jimmy Carter and 40 of his Carter Center cohorts are in Egypt to protect the will of the people. Egypt’s veiled threat to abrogate its treaty with Israel probably pleases him even more.

When he visited North Korea, the great humanitarian kissed its ruthless, despicable dictator. One may assume he kissed Kim Jong-Il on his cheek or lips, but I suspect he kissed the opposite end of the despot’s torso.

So, you ask, “What’s the big deal?” Are you really ready for this?

All actions have consequences. In the case of Carter’s betrayal of the Iranian government, the entire Middle East became unstable. Russia invaded Afghanistan, giving rise to the Taliban that we supported with anti-aircraft missiles and other weapons and training. Following defeat of Russia by the American-armed Taliban — well, you probably know the rest of the story.

Carter Fooled a Lot of Us

We supported him, Christians and Jews alike. Naturally, we were Democrats. Like civil rights lawyer Alan Dershowitz, I believed Carter a man of integrity. Also like Dershowitz, Jimmy disappointed me.

Jimma’ no longer disappoints me. He acts exactly as I expect him to act: he’s an equal-opportunity betrayer of America and Israel.

Saudi oil money generously fills his Carter Center coffers. Yes folks another oppressive regime is Carter’s benefactor. Why does this man so love dictators who brutally oppress their people?

Actions Have Consequences (Part Deux)

Carter’s treasonous support of the Muslim Brotherhood dovetails nicely into all his previous and present anti-Israel acts. Many Middle East experts foresee the re-emergence of a caliphate. Soon, bitter Muslim enemies who wish to kill all Jews will completely surround tiny Israel.

Congress approved NDAA; it approved an increase of $7.85 to fund expansion of TSA whose tentacles now slither from the airports onto our highways, bus stations, and train depots and even into sports stadiums. NDAA adds twelve (12) new VIPR teams, 140 new ‘behavior detection officers’ and 250 brand-spanking-new body scanners.

Because we are spread across these 50 states (or 57 by the president’s count) you haven’t encountered a VIPR team unless you live in Janet Napolitano’s Homeland Security public tolerance laboratory – Tennessee. The Volunteer State was first to welcome the Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) anti-terrorist program.

President-for-Life, Magnificent Leader Obama is well on his way to achieving his goal of having a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the military.

“President-for-Life? Magnificent Leader? Wait a minute. Now you’re going overboard. You’re talking like one of those right-wing nuts. We elected him and we can replace him” you say.

How are you going to replace him? Do you even understand how he came to be elected? Setting aside his Muslim background, his work as a community organizer and his communist parents and communist mentors, let’s take a look at the secret of his success. Are you ready for this?

Okay, now listen carefully: He got out the vote. He got his people to register to vote and he got them to the polls. Have I left you behind here?

Okay, I’ll say it another way: The 2008 election was ours to lose, because we did not get our people registered and we didn’t get them to the polls. In fact, nationwide, only 61.2% of all eligible voters cast ballots. By ‘we’ I mean those of us who understand our God-given natural rights and the supernatural intervention that brought forth this nation; ‘we’ who believe the U.S. Constitution is inviolate.

How many of us depend on federal assistance for healthcare, extended unemployment compensation and Social Security benefits? Of that number, how many will agree to forego those benefits in order to restore precious liberty? A rhetorical question, of course, but you get the idea: Obama has created a huge underclass dependent on his social spending.

What’s the cure? GET OUT THE VOTE! Pick up a handful of voter registration cards from your elections office. Keep them nearby, in your car and/or in your purse (ladies, I presume). We meet people every day at supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, workplaces – you name it. It’s as simple as engaging them in a brief conversation. “By the way, have you registered to vote? No? Take this simple voter registration card, fill it out and drop it in the mail. It cost nothing to register, but the cost of not voting threatens you, your children and your grandchildren yet unborn. If you are unfamiliar with all the candidates, you can simply make one mark to vote straight Republican.” If they accept the card, thank them for standing up for America.

We conservatives, according to a 2010 George Gallup poll, constitute well over 42% of the U.S. population while 36% consider themselves ‘moderate’ (undecided voters) and merely 20% confess to being liberals. It doesn’t take a genius to see that all we have to do is GET OUT THE VOTE.

We can’t leave this task to our local Republican parties. If they either had the will or the desire to register voters, Obama would never have taken over our country. It’s up to you, Mr. and Mrs. America.

Let’s not depend on Mayan calendars and let’s not fall into despair. I remind you of the Chinese symbol for crisis which is a combination of two terms: DANGER and OPPORTUNITY.

Families Near Starvation

Yes, undeniably, we face great danger. Let’s not forget that we are a nation of over 310,000,000 persons who must have shelter, food to eat, clothes to cover ourselves, transportation, medical care and entertainment. Herein lays opportunity.

Socialists wholly control the Democrat party and they and their fearless leader strive to force their economic theory (socialism) upon on. I remind you the dictionary definition of socialism – “an economic theory”. Why is socialism a theory? Quite simply: it has never been proven to work.

The same dictionary defines capitalism as “an economic system”. Capitalism is simply the natural exchange of goods and services among a free people.

In the same way poverty and riches are a state of mind, so it is with serfdom and freedom.

I have seen firsthand what happens under the heavy hand of socialist governments like El Salvador and Cuba. I know from reliable sources that Venezuela, Argentina and others follow a familiar pattern whereby their citizens thrive through an underground economy. Naturally, as the underground economy flourishes, government oppression increases. Earlier this year the IRS stepped up audits of millionaires. But, if the federal government, via the IRS, were to confiscate all the wealth of all our millionaires and billionaires, it could not satisfy the national debt. Since the IRS cannot possibly confiscate all their assets, they will come after y-o-u.

Naturally, an oppressive government will not secure the natural rights of its citizens. Nay, you say, this can’t happen in America. Really? Congress and your president have discarded, effectively repealed, the Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. In short order we’ll experience further loss of civil liberties.

Okay, okay, so now I know all about the dangers, where is my opportunity? Your opportunity hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s been with you all along.

Socialism can only survive until the government runs out of other people’s money. Re-read, above, the definition of capitalism.

The natural thing to do is to serve others. Be a problem solver. No one can do everything, but everyone does something well. Begin thinking now about what you like to do most – this could be your ticket to survival.

My parents lived through the Great Depression. Out of that era came great literary works like The Grapes of Wrath, a literary masterpiece that made John Steinbeck wealthy almost overnight.

My wife’s great uncle, Louis M. Pearce, Sr. made a fortune before and during the Great Depression. He and his wife became benefactors to family members. His widow gave us our most valuable wedding gifts. Today, when you travel through rural areas you may see a company selling all manner of heavy equipment – the Waukesha-Pearce Company.

During the Great Depression, Paul Galvin was manufacturing inverters that turned battery power to 110 vac for home radios (electricity was not widely available to homes at the time). As home electrification expanded, Paul needed a new product. He encountered a couple of young fellows who came up with the idea for a car radio. Galvin brought William Lear and Elmer Wavering into his facility to set up shop. Recognizing the need for a catchy name, Paul Galvin came up with “Motorola” – derived in part from the popular RCA Victrola record player and, obviously, the motor car. The Great Depression spawned innovation. This is a natural process where desperate people do desperate things. Read more on the Harvard Business Review about how economic downturns spawn innovation.

Unfortunately, the Great Depression opened the door to “big government” programs like WPA, CCC and Social Security. Roosevelt’s extravagant spending was seen as relief for American workers, but in fact exacerbated economic depression, delaying economic recovery.

Although no official records exist on the number of Americans who died of starvation or malnutrition, some reasonable estimates range up to 7,000,000 lives lost. To those who would deny the possibility of starvation in this great country, I point out the various ministries who provide essential food to hungry people today: Feed the Children, Feeding America, Operation Blessing, The North Texas Food Bank and the Salvation Army. If tens of millions of Americans go hungry during reasonably good economic times, can you imagine a possible outcome for our neighbors should another economic crisis befalls us?

God made us in His image. In other words, God made us to be creative. So, be creative. Let’s not despair. Instead, let’s look for opportunities to serve our fellow man. Allow yourself to dream impossible things.
