Rockwall, Texas – On Thursday, September 6th, at approximately 8:45am, officers with the Rockwall Police Department arrested four people believed to be the suspects in a series of residential burglaries. Over the past two and a half weeks, multiple reports of weekday burglaries were received from residents of Rockwall. In each of these cases, forced entry was made by the suspect kicking in the front door.
All of the offenses occurred during morning hours and based on witness information, it was believed the same suspect or set of suspects were responsible for the crimes.
Officers who were deployed in the affected areas observed suspicious activity in the 1400 block of Lochspring Drive. Upon contacting the subjects, it was revealed they were linked to the offenses reported in Rockwall.
A total of four suspects identified as Detrevion Turner, Marcus Duren, Decoreum Clater, and Jesse Houston (all from Dallas) were in a vehicle that matched the description given by witnesses. All were arrested on the charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – Burglary.
The investigation into the offenses continues and is being handled by the Rockwall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
We citizens of Rockwall, Texas are indeed fortunate to have a first-class police department. Chief Mark Moeller leads a team of law enforcement, investigation and crime prevention professionals with whom I have had personal experience in thwarting burglaries in my own neighborhood. Within one hour after I reported suspicious activity, three young people were arrested and the stash of stolen property discovered.
