Sometimes something has to be said: I deeply appreciate the interest of my Facebook and Twitter followers who add immense depth and vitality to our discussions.
I personally believe we, as a country, are living in perilous times, facing challenges greater in magnitude than any time in our history. We recovered from the Great Civil War; victory was ours in two World Wars. Even the Great Depression made us stronger.
Now we have amassed over $16 trillion national debt and almost half of all households depend on federal payments, one form or another, for subsistence. The ratio of employed Americans to those on disability payments is now 16:1. Marxists-Socialists hold control of our federal government and public sodomy is now not only acceptable behavior for our military personnel, it’s MANDATORY.
This national election coming up in 48 days will either mark a turning point back to Constitutional liberty or our inevitable slide into the abyss of history.
I say this is not a time to banter that cliche that cost us dearly in 2008: “voting for the lesser of two evils”. Just to set the record straight, the Bible says ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
We’re not voting on “Pastor of the Year” – we’re voting for members of Congress and a president. And, we must VOTE.
I share with you a mock Latin phrase I picked up almost 40 years gone by.
Illegitimi non carborundum – “Don’t allow the illegitimate ones to grind you down” (Yes, I cleaned it up for public consumption).
I will vote straight Republican ballot for the first time in my life. It’s not that I don’t always vote Republican, but I don’t want to open any opportunity for me to overlook even one solitary Republican candidate.
