The one and only redeeming outcome of the Obama administration is its unifying
effect on our country. Not since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has any one single act of any president served to bring together diverse sectors of our population.
What is this great thing Obama has done for us? It’s his unconstitutional searches and record keeping of our phone calls, emails, and browsing histories. Use of the NSA to unlawfully intrude on our collective privacy has stirred up people from the left, from the right and right down the center of public opinions.
Consider these statements:
Former Vice-President Al Gore – “Obscenely outrageous!”
U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) – “An astounding assault on the Constitution.”
The ACLU – “Beyond Orwellian.”
Candidate for Texas State Governor Tom Pauken – “As Governor of Texas, I will lead the way to protect innocent citizens from this unwarranted intrusion against our individual rights. These actions by our federal government sound like something that could have could have come out of George Orwell’s great novel “1984” about life under a totalitarian regime. I will push for changes in the Patriot Act to restore our freedom from this intrusive invasion of our privacy, and do everything in my power to protect the citizens of the state of Texas from being targeted by an overreaching federal government—whether it is the IRS going after conservative organizations or NSA-FBI spying on us without due process. A government big enough to give you anything you want is powerful to take away everything you have.”
U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) – “We have discovered over the past few months an ongoing pattern of wanton disregard not only for Americans’ privacy, but for the truth – DOJ’s refusal to be forthcoming about drone policy, IRS’s targeting groups for their political beliefs and then misleading the American people about it, DOJ’s targeting of journalists for doing their jobs, and now what seems an unprecedented intrusion into Americans’ personal phone records and potentially into their broader online activities.”
What’s the cure, brother? The cure is to elect conservatives to the House and Senate this coming November. Obviously, we can’t trust a Democrat Senate majority and, to be sure, we don’t want Pelosi back in charge of the House. We MUST elect conservatives to Congress.
Do your homework. Vote conservative in November.
