Yo, Detroit! Hey, Baby, ¿Qué pasó?

The Ruins of Detroit by Alexander Synaptic

What happened to Detroit, aka Motor City, aka Motown? How did those rascally Republicans destroy this city? Give up? They didn’t.

Motown came under the control of Mayor Coleman Young who ruled the city over five terms in office. It was during his reign that he pitted whites against blacks. The term “white flight” arose out of what was happening during those years. White people moved out of the city limits as fast as they could, often to unfinished new homes in the suburbs.

Five-term Mayor of Detroit Coleman Young

Michigan isn’t in bad shape and automakers still build cars near there. In fact, Ford Motor is rebuilding its workforce in nearby Dearborn. If Michigan was a restaurant, Detroit would be one of its toilets.

Coleman became a major force in the Democrat Party. He served as “vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1977 to 1981 and chair of the Democratic National Convention Platform Committee in 1980. He also led the United States Conference of Mayors and the National Conference of Democratic Mayors at various times.” (Wikipedia)

It was the Democrats who destroyed Detroit. Now, we have a sitting president who could be a direct descendant of Mayor Coleman Young, judging by the way he stirs up strife and promotes irresponsibility. Irresponsibility? Yes, if anything doesn’t work well, it’s Whitey’s fault, so said Coleman Young, so says Barack Obama.

November cometh. This president’s signature legislation, the so-called Affordable Care Act, is becoming a poison pill. We now have fewer than half of all adults working full time, 47% to be exact. 100 million Americans are on food stamps. What this fascist, outlaw president and his outlaw staff are doing to our beloved country may be irreversible. I hope that’s not the case, but it appears more and more to be so.

Remember in November and let’s give the Democrats the boot from the Senate and let’s add to our conservative majority in the the House.
