Today, San Antonio city council voted to pass a new ordinance. It’s ostensibly a “non-discrimination” policy. That’s what it’s called, but it is better described as an anti-First Amendment, anti-Christian, anti-Free Enterprise law that forces the LGBT agenda onto local businesses, churches and private citizens.
So you know, San Antonio’s Mayor Julian Castro, whose mother Rosie Castro is a founder and member of La Raza Unida, is the darling of the democrats. Julian and his twin brother Joaquin follow in the radical footsteps of Mama Rosie.
La Raza Unida is widely known as a communist organization. Communism sets the state as a ‘god’. Therefore, the worship of the Living God must be rooted out, in the view of communists.
When did the City of San Antonio ever refuse services to or the opportunity to do business with homosexuals? What are the facts? Facts are stubborn things. It’s never happened. This is a measure enacted as an advancement of the homosexual agenda that will affect every aspect of American life.
San Antonio is 28.7% Catholic and home base to Pastor John Hagee’s Cornerstone megachurch with membership approximately 20,000. Astonishingly, Pastor Hagee actually approved that onerous, unconstitutional city ordinance after Council member Bernal changed some of its language.
“To say that you agree with this ordinance is to say that you do not believe that someone who is gay or lesbian ought to be discriminated against in the same way that an African American or a Hispanic or a woman shouldn’t be discriminated against.” — Mayor Julian Castro
His statement begs the question, how is it that a city that is 63.2% Hispanic suffer “discrimination”? Furthermore, since the major industry of the city are U.S. military bases that provide MBE preference for so-called ‘minority’ businesses, who is actually experiencing discrimination?
San Antonio Christians compromised on the ordinance to their detriment. St. Josemaría Escrivá said, “Compromise is a word found only in the vocabulary of those who have no will to fight.”
“Compromise means to go just a little bit below what you know is right. It’s just a little bit, but it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine.” — Joyce Meyer
San Antonio Christians demonstrably have no will to fight for what is right. The day will come when they will deeply regret not standing against this insidious ordinance.
