Muslims call the Israelis “occupiers”. Our sitting president and his Secretary of State openly engage the enemies of Israel and America while ignoring 3,500 years of recorded history.
This president also ignores recent history: It was on this day, November 29, 66 years ago, the United Nations voted to recognize the establishment of a Jewish State in the land of Israel. This revolutionary vote gave the British Empire one year to leave the country, paving the way for the creation of the State of Israel.
Calamities Follow Political Assaults on Israeli Sovereignty
Democrat presidents Carter, Clinton and, most significantly, Obama have undermined the statehood of this tiny nation that marks the division between occidental and oriental peoples.
Bush 41, regrettably, joined in the fray on October 30, 1991, when he opened the Madrid conference whose purpose was to redefine the future of Israeli land. It was precisely on this same day that “The Perfect Storm” formed off the coast of Nova Scotia, generating 100-foot waves that crashed onto shore destroying President Bush’s Kennebunkport, Maine resort.
August 23, 1992, President Bush (41) moved the Madrid conference to our nation’s capital. That same day Hurricane Andrew, considered the worst natural disaster to ever hit our country, pummeled Florida causing approximately $30 billion in damage and leaving 180,000 Americans homeless.
On January 16, 1994, President Clinton met with Syria’s President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva to discuss return of the Golan Heights to Syria. Within 24 hours the Northridge earthquake struck southern California. That 6.9 magnitude event is considered second only to Hurricane Andrew in economic devastation on American soil. That earthquake was the second most destructive event in our history.
During the months of March and April 1997 devastating tornadoes and floods struck our nation. On the very day that PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat landed in America to begin his tour of country a wave of tornadoes wreaked destruction across the south. Starting in Texas, tornadoes left behind great swaths of damage through Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky and Tennessee. Throughout Arafat’s tour, there was widespread flooding in the midwest and tremendous storms in the Dakotas. Those storms stopped the day Arafat left America.
Do you remember the Monica Lewinsky-President Clinton sex scandal? It was on January 21, 1998 when Benjamin Netanyahu, on official state visit to the White House, was snubbed by President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Very shortly after that snub the scandal broke and took up most of Bill’s time defending himself.
Madeleine Albright was working on a draft of an ‘agreement’ whereby Israel would cede 13% of the “Yesha”, Judea and Samaria/Gaza captured by Israeli soldiers in the Six Day War. What disaster came upon us? Hurricane Georges.
Clinton met jointly with Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to conclude that agreement hastily drafted by Madeleine Albright on September 28, 1998 as Hurricane George clobbered our Gulf Coast causing over $1 billion in property damage. Almost to the moment that Arafat departed CONUS the hurricane abated.
Later that same Fall, as Yasser Arafat and Benjamin Netanyahu met at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland from October 15 to October 22 to resume that discussion started on September 28. Texans in the Hill Country can better describe the incredible deluge that hit our state along with tornadoes. Over 20 inches of rain fell on the city San Antonio in one day. I remember that torrent of rain, because my wife and daughter were stranded for days at a retreat, unable to drive away as roads were flooded and impassable. Texas was declared a major disaster area. Again, over $1 billion in property damages.
On May 3, 1999, the very day Arafat was scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, the most powerful tornadic storms to ever race across our soil, whipped through Oklahoma with 316 MPH winds, the highest ever recorded.
Coming closer to our present, on August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina laid waste to New Orleans and inflicted heavy damage to adjoining coastal areas of Mississippi and Alabama. This storm struck one week after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon concluded the forcible eviction of Israeli citizens from the Gaza Strip and, sad to say, President George Bush supported this eviction.
God calls Jerusalem the the apple or pupil of His eye. If like me, that is possibly the singular most sensitive part of the body. Consider these words from Zechariah chapter 2, Amplified Version:
8 For thus said the Lord of hosts, after [His] glory had sent me [His messenger] to the nations who plundered you—for he who touches you touches the apple or pupil of His eye:
9 Behold, I will swing my hand over them and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord of hosts has sent me [His messenger].
10 Sing and rejoice, O Daughter of Zion; for behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the Lord.
11 And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day and shall be My people. And I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord of hosts has sent me [His messenger] to you.
12 And the Lord shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and shall again choose Jerusalem.
13 Be still, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused and risen from His holy habitation.
I invite you to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as instructed in Psalm 122:6 Amplified Version.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they prosper who love you [the Holy City]!”
I also invite you to pray that God will raise up lawmakers and a president who revere the Word of God, understand ancient history and acknowledge God’s hand on Israel.
Sticking one’s finger in the eye of God is a very bad idea.
