Corruption & Lawlessness: A Plan to Destroy the Constitution?

December 5, 2013

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

Tension between political viewpoints is always healthy, but tension between a branch of government and the Constitution should alarm all citizens, regardless the political viewpoint.

Our forefathers declared our independence from the British crown, due to the Kings failure to follow the Rule of Law. Let’s read the number one complaint from our Declaration of Independence:

“He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.”

Is this happening now, under this sitting president? Let’s consider a few facts:

  • President Obama unlawfully changes laws, abusing authority reserved to the Legislative Branch alone under the Constitution.
  • AG Eric Holder selectively enforces laws that suit his ideology. In some cases, like “Fast and Furious” gun running, he outright violates the Supreme Law of the Land.
  • Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid selectively circumvents established rules of order to silence the minority. Only this week, Reid selectively declares some of his employees exempt from ObamaCare.
  • Looming over from over the horizon like a tsunami wave is the IRS abuse of power scandal. Historically, the FBI would come to the fore as our champion of law and order, but not this time. This time, the FBI is wholly given over to the Dark Side to cover for Darth Obama.

We have a constitutional mechanism that holds federal agencies accountable, the House Oversight Committee.

According to an article in The Washington Times, dated 2 December 2013,

“The House’s chief investigator says the FBI is stonewalling his inquiry into whether the agency and the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative group True the Vote for special scrutiny, and Rep. Darrell E. Issa is now threatening subpoenas to pry loose the information from FBI Director James B. Comey Jr.

Mr. Issa, California Republican, and Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, are leading the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s IRS inquiry. They also said the FBI is refusing to turn over any documents related to its own investigation into the IRS, which began in the days after an auditor’s report revealed the tax agency had improperly targeted tea party groups for special scrutiny.”

Where are we now? Six months down the road after the FBI began its investigation of IRS political abuses, the FBI has come forth with no information gathered from its investigation, all this after “consulting” with Attorney General Eric Holder.

Next, the Oversight Committee will issue summons. What happens if Obama’s people decide to refuse to testify?

We are already in Constitutional Crisis Mode, due to a lawless president and his rogue agencies. Refusal to testify will push us over the cliff and there are learned minds suggesting a complete breakdown of law and order across America the Beautiful – and some predict open, armed revolt. We don’t want this, do we?

It seems as though this president intentionally creates hazardous tension. He did pledge to “fundamentally transform America”. Does his plan include dissolution of the Constitution?

If you are a person of faith, pray that God will intervene and prevent collapse of government. Pray that this president and all his subordinates will “Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good”.
