Open Letter to Congressman Ralph Hall: Don’t Fall into Obama’s Immigration Trap

Subject: Immigration Reform

Congressman,

First Some Facts:

  • Approximately 52% of all ICE (Border Patrol) agents are Hispanic. [Source: Houston Chronicle, 31 Jan. 2014]
  • ICE union president Chris Crane calls on Republicans to meet with Border Patrol agents while working out immigration reform principles. Crane expressed frustration on the part of his union members over the lawless way said agents are ordered to handle illegal aliens – somewhat like fishing: a catch and release policy. [Source: NRO, 28 Jan. 2014]
  • The Rule of Law is fundamental to a just and equitable society, assuring equal application of the law, regardless race, skin color or national origin. The Rule of Law is a ‘plank’ firmly nailed onto the 2012 Republican Party Platform. [Source: Official GOP website, 2012]
  • While only 13% of our Hispanic population self-identifies as Republican by some polls, by nature this sector of our population is principally pro-life, Christian, pro-traditional marriage and profoundly conservative. While I agree with Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) on a bi-partisan approach, we must not abandon our principles.
  • ICE agents warn against blanket amnesty, due to the effect of further overloading their work. In fact they warn processing 11,000,000 applicants would be disastrous. [Source: The Washington Times: 30 Jan. 2014]

Yes, I know how the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other big business groups are plying Congress with campaign money in order for them to get all the cheap labor they need, further overloading ICE and forsaking a cornerstone of republicanism, the Rule of Law, will discourage Republican voters. Do we need Republican voters to stay away from the polling places, again? You and I know the answer is a resounding NO!

There are issues we as a country must address in common sense fashion. I propose two to be the highest priority.

  • FACILITATE legal border crossings, back the way it was done in the fifties and sixties. Speed up the process of issuance of work visas and cut the cost to some affordable dollar amount. This simple measure would in and of itself bankrupt illegal enterprises that use “mules” to haul illegal narcotics across our southern border an “coyotes” who serve as paid escorts to illegal immigrants. I add these benefits: Big Business gets all the cheap labor they need and these DOCUMENTED  workers contribute to our economy.
  • FOCUS on Hispanic youth in this country now, children who had no choice in illegally coming to our shores. For the most part, if forced to return to the countries of their respective nativities, their lives would be in peril. The vast majority of these youngsters are 100% American, culturally speaking. Let’s establish policies that facilitate their full integration into our society.

It is said “money talks” and I know how the U.S. Chamber is betraying our nation with all that money, but I hasten to say “voters talk”, too. You know very well how Republican voters react to unsatisfactory GOP policies: they stay home on Election Day.

Thank you,

Rockwall Welcomes George P. Bush

george-p-bush-banner

Rockwall County Hispanic Republican Club hosts George P. Bush who is a candidate for Texas Land Commissioner. George is on a bus tour of Texas cities to connect with fellow Texans.

Rockwall County Tour Details

Date: Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: Rockwall County Courthouse
Address: 1111 East Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall, Texas 75087

Duties of the Land Commissioner

The General Land Office administers the use of all state-owned lands. This responsibility includes leasing for gas and oil production, mining, and grazing, and monitoring the environmental quality of public lands and waters. The office also operates the veterans’ land program, in which state bonds are used to underwrite loans to military veterans for land purchases.

The Land Commissioner authorizes exploration and exploitation of public lands, so the Commissioner’s decisions affect hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity. This also has a significant impact on state government and services, as the General Land Office generates hundreds of millions of dollars in royalties on oil and gas extracted from state lands. – U.T. Austin Texas Politics

First Line of Defense Against EPA

As by now most Americans know the greatest threat to our prosperity and our liberty comes not from outside, but inside our nation as big government bureaucrats continue to flood us with onerous regulations.

While the office of Land  Commissioner may be somewhat unfamiliar to you, it is an office that must be held by a staunch  conservative who stands for the Rule of Law and the Tenth Amendment.

Texas Congressional District 4 – My Choice

January 24, 2014

Hon. Ralph M. Hall
Hon. Ralph M. Hall Texas CD-4

Rockwall, Texas

It is said a man is known by the company he keeps. It has been while in the company of Congressman Ralph Hall, one of the greatest men I have known in my lifetime, that I come into contact with a number of astronauts, business owners, community leaders and politicians.

Congressman Ralph M. Hall Texas Congressional District-4
Congressman Ralph M. Hall
Texas Congressional District-4

Ralph serves the constituents of Congressional District 4 in the halls of Congress, but he returns home every weekend to connect with us, the people of this district.

Too old? At age 81, was Benjamin Franklin “too old” to be the singular decisive influence at the 1787 Constitutional Convention that radically changed this nation forever? Obviously, the answer is ‘no’.

One outstanding thing about my friend Ralph Hall is how he participates in our community, not something that can be said of most of his opponents. It seems a broad array, with one exception, imagines their youth gives them the edge over Ralph. I disagree.

I will cast my vote for Ralph Hall in the Republican primary elections.

“Throughout his time in Congress, Chairman Hall has served this institution with style and humor. It is an honor to work with Ralph as both a colleague and a friend. Ralph has always said, ‘I’d rather be respected at home than liked in Washington.’ Ralph, you actually have achieved that rare combination of both." -- Cong. Lamar Smith

Open Reciprocity and Why I Strongly Object To It

January 16, 2014

An Open Letter to Senator John CornynTX_CHL

Honorable John Cornyn
517 Hart Senate Office Bldg.
Washington, DC 20510

Subject: Concealed Carry Reciprocity bill

Senator,

Your email I received this afternoon touts the Concealed Carry Reciprocity bill. I appreciate your sentiments to pass a nationwide reciprocity bill whereby a concealed handgun license holder in one state will be able to carry a weapon in any other state that allows concealed-carry.

You say the NRA backs this bill and I believe you. But, allow me a moment or two to inject my point of view and why I oppose it.

First of all, the Second Amendment individual right to keep and bear arms does not give us this right. Self-defense is a natural right, a God-given right. The Second Amendment was added to prevent you and your congressional colleagues from limiting our natural right.

It’s worth pointing out a very important factor around this issue: What you propose is not allowed under any of the enumerated powers listed in the Constitution.

This bill, if passed, will inevitably force upon us a national registry of a matter hitherto a matter reserved to the states.

Your responsibility is to represent the State of Texas, not any of the other states or even the NRA. For the record, I am a member of the NRA and will continue to be one.

By means of this open letter, I invite readers to tell you to OPPOSE the “Concealed Carry Reciprocity” bill and its derivatives. We have now in place ample reciprocity agreements with most of the states of this union.

FEMA Internment Camps in America – Is This Possible? Yes – We’ve Done It Before

January 16, 2014

Internet is atwitter over stories about FEMA detention camps intended to lock away law abiding citizens of the United States of America.

“This could never happen in a million years!” Well, not only CAN it happen, IT’S HAPPENED BEFORE.

Loyal American citizens were herded into camps with no possibility of appeal. They committed no crimes. Neither were any of them engaging in suspicious activities. Yet, locked up they were. Government believed only the POSSIBILITY they would place their loyalties with the Empire of Japan or Germany, in place of their native country – America.

Beginning in 1942, our government began forcing descendants of Japanese ancestry into concentration camps.

Well, you may think, “those Japanese people look suspicious”.

Then you should know we did the same to Germans and Italians at various times.

Map of Internment Camps Populated by German-Americans

Italian-Americans Were Also Held in Internment Camps
Italian-Americans Were Also Held in Internment Camps

This leads to the question: Who are the ‘suspicious people’ today?

Under this sitting president, the feds have classified Christians,
TEA Party people and various conservative groups as “terrorists”.

Liberal Senator Mitch Mcconnell says warrantless searches are okay, because America is now a 'battleground'.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me–and there was no one left to speak for me.unknown

Harvey Weinstein, Meryl Streep & Barack Obama – Oh, My!

January 16, 2014

Harvey Weinstein (Associated Press)
Harvey Weinstein (Associated Press)

A movie to make the NRA – you and me – “wish they weren’t alive“. This is Mr. Harvey Weinstein’s movie to be produced in collaboration with Meryl Streep.

According to an article in The Washington Times, written by Emily Miller, in an interview with Howard Stern, Harvey says he doesn’t own a gun. He does think they are necessary for self defense, but in other countries, not our country.

Weinstein admitted to Stern this movie will not be a documentary, but a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’”

He expects moviegoers to leave the theater with a reformed investor mindset “Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn.”

NRA membership is 1.6% of the entire population of United States of America – 5,000,000 persons. Gun ownership estimates range between 43 and 55 million persons. Approximately 50% of all households have guns. So, Harvey is ‘shooting down‘ a substantial portion of our population.

Who is Harvey Weinstein? I quote from the article:

The chairman of the Weinstein Co. (formerly Miramax) is one of President Obama’s biggest fundraisers. He brought in more than $500,000 from his Hollywood friends for the president’s re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2012.

To see his featured R-rated (pornographic) movie list, click on this link: http://www.miramax.com/catalog

You may wish to express your disappointment in his unconstitutional point of view. If so, please be polite. I suggest something as simple as “I am the NRA.”

Click on this link to send a message to Mr. Weinstein:http://www.miramax.com/contact

To read the full article, click on this link: http://ow.ly/sDJvC

I pledge to NEVER view a Miramax movie, regardless of rating.

Bailout for the Insurance Companies? And, You Were Surprised?

January 15, 2014

At some point, your run out of other people's money.
At some point, your run out of other people’s money.

Another bailout? You are surprised? The Affordable Care Act – aka ObamaCare – has greatly disrupted and imperiled insurance companies to the point, I expect, Obama will next declare he must nationalize medical insurance companies to save money.

His intention from Day One was to force us into a #SinglePayer system whereby we pay our ‘premiums’ (another way of saying ‘taxes‘) directly to the Treasury Department. Treasury, in turn, directly pays our medical bills.

Isn't Socialism Wonderful? (See more at www.russmo.com)
Isn’t Socialism Wonderful?
(See more at www.russmo.com)

This Tyrant-in-Chief will be able to get away with this because the Democrat Party makes no pretense of upholding the Rule of Law and spineless establishment Republicans (except for the TEA Party people) will be too subdued to act. (They don’t want to appear as ‘obstructionists’.) I am thankful my U.S. Representative, Congressman Ralph Hall and my Senator Ted Cruz stand firmly with us in repealing the Affordable Care Act.

At some point in time, we’ll morph into bifurcated medical care Canadian style in which we’ll have the poorly funded state health care system (Medicaid/Medicare) and a cash-basis concierge system where you can get the kind of high-quality medical attention to which we have been accustomed for many, many years.

Obama pledged to “fundamentally transform” America. He’s making progress on his pledge.

I find irony in the way big insurance companies supported the Affordable Care Act. No doubt they greedily saw an avalanche of new business – it isn’t happening. Even Max Baucus, author of the law, warns of an impending “train wreck”.

In March, we vote on our faves in the primaries. Next November, we reach the point of no return. Either we restore the rule of law by electing true conservatives who ardently adhere to the Constitution or we. go. down.
