Moderate Muslims need to know: ISIS/ISIL (aka Islamic State) is Islamic, Sunni and relentless in its goal to reestablish a caliphate throughout the Middle East and, as Buz Lightyear would say, “to infinity and beyond”. The Islamic State is 100% Islam as it was practiced in 700 AD.
Where Are They Going Next?
The three ‘holiest’ Sunni Muslim sites are Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Islamic State must gain control of these three sites to validate its claims and fulfill its goal.
Saudi Arabia is Sunni and its moderate Muslim monarchy greatly fears the Islamic State. With this in mind, understand why the Saudi monarchy cooperates with Israel for common defense.
A clear division emerges in the Gaza Strip between moderate Muslims who truly want to be at peace to raise their families and fundamentalist Muslim sympathizers who wholly agree with Islamic State, a growing horde of bloodthirsty militants.
Memri Video: Gaza Imam Brandishes Gun in Friday Sermon: Weapons Are Our Only Means to Establish the Caliphate
At the Huda Mosque in Gaza, Muslim preacher Sheikh Iyad Abu Funun held up a machine gun and said, “These weapons are our only means to liberate the Al Aqsa Mosque [in Jerusalem]. These weapons are our only means to establish the Islamic state! … These weapons are our only means to reestablish Mohammed’s caliphate!”
The sheikh’s calls were answered by repeated shouts from the congregation of “Allahu Akbar! Allah be praised!”
“These weapons are our only means to instate the law of Allah. Therefore, they will take our souls before they can take our weapons!” the Muslim cleric declared.
Referring to the armed hostilities with Israel that ended in late August, the preacher said, “This war has proven that these weapons are our only means to liberate our land.”
What should be our plan of action?
First, I will be praying for God to reveal Jesus Christ to moderate Muslims through dreams and visions.
Nizar Shaheen, host of Light for the Nations, a Christian program seen throughout the Muslim world says, “I see many, many Arabic-speaking people turning to Christ, accepting Him as Lord and Savior. It’s happening all over the Arab world. It’s happening in North Africa. It’s happening in the Middle East. It’s happening in the Gulf countries. It’s happening in Europe and Canada and the United States-in the Arabic-speaking world. Everywhere, people are accepting Jesus.”
Second, I will be praying for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”
Third, I invite traditional and nontraditional Christians along with Muslim Background Believers (MBB) to agree with me in prayer.
Prayer is our duty. The outcome is the Lord’s responsibility.
