GOP Candidates Line Up for Attention – A look at Rick Santorum

Let’s look at Rick Santorum’s accomplishments. Actually, I think of one accomplishment that totally changed the lives of all 310+ million Americans. You are unfamiliar with this accomplishment?
His accomplishment dates back to the year 2004 when a Pennsylvania conservative ran for the seat of liberal Republican Senator Arlen Specter. Specter won, because Rick Santorum ‘anointed’ him, campaigned for him. “So what?” You say.
Well, in case you didn’t know, NOT EVEN ONE REPUBLICAN lawmaker voted for the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare. The Senate vote was evenly split between Republicans voting against and Democrats voting for the biggest takeover of American private business in the history of our country. One vote. Arlen Specter’s one vote tipped the balance of power and now we have this monstrosity around our necks. Arlen Specter, never truly a Republican had become an ‘independent’ and it was his status at the time ObamaCare passed in the U.S. Senate.

If you are thankful for ObamaCare, you owe a debt of gratitude to former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum. Yes, sir. Quite an accomplishment.
Rick Santorum is a fake. There. I said it. I don’t and won’t take it back.
Regardless the qualifications of either Ted Cruz or Rand Paul, the least accomplishment of either man overshadows the highest accomplishment of Rick Santorum.
Oh, I know. Santorum is the darling of preachers across the country. Santorum has even captured the interest of my own pastor Robert Morris.
In the last election cycle, we witnessed the rise of the neo-Pharisees whose candidates touted their spirituality and self-righteousness as chief qualifications for the offices sought. Well, a raft of those men and women ascended to office, all too often displacing good people with solid credentials and proven track records. The neo-Pharisee movement candidates captured offices at all levels of governments from county commissioner positions to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Do as you wish. I want a Republican president who consistently stands on principle and the rule of law. Therefore, Santorum can’t be my guy.
