1 – Is it possible to know the history of mankind and continue as an atheist? Historical revisionists wishing to erase all references to our Risen Savior Jesus Christ relabel time from BC (Before Christ) to BCE (Before Common Era). Regardless how they monkey with mnemonics, there He is, Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. Now deceased Carl Sagan was certain astrophysicists and astronomers would find life on other Earth-like planets. Hasn’t happened. In fact, a growing number of genuine scientists now call into question their atheism, saying science appears to disprove evolutionary theories on the origins of the universe.
2 – Is it possible to continue homosexual activities knowing the consequences of aberrant sexual behavior? The cost to care for homosexuals is higher than for caring for our the elderly. Did you know this? Is it possible for a homosexual to continue his or her unhealthy behavior knowing they will suffer higher incidences of domestic violence than any other population group? I remember how G. Gordon Liddy of White House Plumbers fame answered a caller to his radio show asking how the G-Man can definitively say homosexuality is wrong. His answer: “It doesn’t go there!”
3 – Is it possible to remain a Muslim after a personal visitation by Jesus Christ himself? No. Annually, millions of Muslims cast off the idolatry of Islam following dreams and visions in which Jesus Christ appears to them. Is it possible for Muslims to continue worshiping a false god after learning the history of their religion? Is it possible for Muslims to clamor against Christian Crusaders after learning how Muslims ransacked and dominated most of the civilized world, murdering, raping, enslaving, robbing and depriving people of precious liberty? No.
Truth. The most powerful weapon against tyranny and oppression continues to be the answer to liberating people from the bondage of sin.
Winston Churchill said, “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.”
What is truth? A preacher I knew would say, “Truth is the way things really are.”
What does God say about it? Jesus taught his disciples, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is the way things really are.
The effect of Truth is liberty, genuine liberty. Again, Jesus teaching, he said “…you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Is it possible to forever resist the grace of God, to resist the gift of the power and desire to do the will of God, the very definition of grace? In a word, no.
Things are said by government and others wearing rose-colored glasses to be getting better all the time. No offense to the Beatles, but things aren’t getting better all the time. A day of reckoning lies before us. I expect that day to come upon us this year. I could be wrong, because I’m neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I am a student of the Bible and history. I will tell you, it is FEMA that encourages all Americans to have “go bags” and a plan of escape from unspecified disaster. FEMA is the granddaddy of all ‘preppers’. What do they know that you don’t know?
Having a president who adores all things Muslim in the White House, a president who forces military personnel and government contractors to accept homosexuality as the new normal, a president who sides with the enemies of Israel isn’t the problem. The problem is pervasive public ignorance and a nationwide process of reprobation. Or, as cartoonist Walt Kelly’s character Pogo famously said, “We is met the enemy and he is us.” Yes, we the people own all the problems that come upon us. We shall be individually and collectively held accountable for the sin we commit and for failing to warn others of the consequences of their sin. Obama is just a symptom of a sin problem in our great country.
For the record, God isn’t dead.
