Science or Politics? Consensus Doesn’t Replace the Scientific Method

Liberals declare anthropogenic ‘climate change’ (aka ‘global warming’) factual, based on “consensus” of a number of supposed scientists.

To no one person can we attribute origination of the scientific method. It was developed over many years, refined by scientists like Bacon, Newton, Galileo, Descartes and other great historical thinkers. What is this method?

The scientific method is the best way yet discovered for winnowing the truth from lies and delusion. The simple version looks something like this:

  1. Observe some aspect of the universe.
  2. Invent a tentative description, called a hypothesis, that is consistent with what you have observed.
  3. Use the hypothesis to make predictions.
  4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis in the light of your results.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment and/or observation.

When consistency is obtained the hypothesis becomes a theory and provides a coherent set of propositions which explain a class of phenomena. A theory is then a framework within which observations are explained and predictions are made.

Weakness of Consensus

Michael Crichton, writer and filmmaker, wrote the book Jurassic Park. His book became a best seller and was the basis for the movie of the same name. This creative genius was the first to use computer-generated animation.

Best known for his amazing book and movie, he was also a highly educated doctor of medicine and an honest-to-goodness scientist. Consider Mr. Crichton’s viewpoint on contemporary science.

Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled. A compulsion for consensus by politicians like Colin Powell and other liberals deludes them into believing that consensus is essential to decision making. I call it “crowd think”. Perhaps, “mob think” is a better term.


Regardless the issue, whether climate change, global warming, foreign policy or socialized medicine, a broad consensus does not the truth represent. Truth is the way things really are, the actual state of a matter, a fact, proposition, principle, or statement, proven to be valid.

All too often news reporters relay stories across America of raids gone bad. On the basis of the word of an informer or the slightest suspicion, militarized law enforcement teams burst into homes unannounced, often in the dark of night, often with tragic consequences.

Tragic consequences? Yes, like the case of Kane v. Lewis, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled such a raid justified under the Fourth Amendment.


A man awakened from sleep by heavily-armed policemen bursting into his apartment grabs the only weapon he had available, a sheathed knife. Officers shot the man in the face and torso, killing him. He was killed over trace amounts of marijuana found in his garbage can.

The irony of the Fourth Circuit Court trampling the Fourth Amendment isn’t to be ignored.

Over two decades leading up to our Unanimous Declaration of Independence, “British troops and enforcement officers were armed with writs of assistance, or general warrants that gave them broad powers to search colonists’ homes. They didn’t need to establish probable cause, or even specificity as to a person or residence. The abuse that came with those warrants made Boston a hub of revolutionary fervor, and memories of that abuse are why the Founders created a Fourth Amendment after the war.” [source cited above]

Question of Propriety

Convoluted case law has effectively eviscerated the Fourth Amendment. History behind the amendment is unambiguous. Founding fathers George Mason and James Madison crafted this amendment to assure protection of persons and property from overzealous, tyrannical government.

Innocent children have suffered great bodily harm. Unarmed residents have been grievously wounded, disfigured and killed. Property damage is inestimable. Most important of all: governments fail to fulfill the most fundamental role: to secure our natural rights.

Case law and violent break-ins by law enforcement officers executing search warrants most certainly obviate the need for an Article V Constitutional Convention of States to amend the Constitution in order to restore original intent.

When a woman in the audience shouted out that Riskin was being disrespectful to the President of the United States, she was booed by the crowd and Riskin said he didn’t need any help from the audience.

Revolutionary Radical: William Clark Quantrill – No Friend to either North, South or Himself

The Ohio native, wanted for murder in Utah by 1860, collected a group of renegades in the Kansas-Missouri area at the beginning of the Civil War. He fought with Confederate forces at the battle of Wilson’s Creek in August 1861 but soon thereafter began irregular independent operations. Quantrill and his band attacked Union camps, patrols, and settlements. While Union authorities declared him an outlaw, Quantrill eventually held the rank of colonel in the Confederate forces. After his infamous sack of Lawrence, Kansas, and the massacre of Union prisoners at Baxter Springs, Quantrill and his men fled to Texas in October of 1863. There he quarreled with his associate, William “Bloody Bill” Anderson, and his band preyed on the citizens of Fannin and Grayson counties. Acts of violence proliferated so much that regular Confederate forces had to be assigned to protect residents from the activities of the irregular Confederate forces, and Gen. Henry McCulloch determined to rid North Texas of Quantrill’s influence. On March 28, 1864, when Quantrill appeared at Bonham as requested, McCulloch had him arrested on the charge of ordering the murder of a Confederate major. I think I see a little bit of the spirit of William Quantrill emerging in recent years. I see it in a broad spectrum of political activism from radicals to the right and radicals to the left.

I implore you to reason with your left-leaning, centrist and leftist colleagues to withstand the treachery of this sitting president. Is there not cause to impeach?

A president who holds the interests of any other nation over the interests of our own has betrayed us. Is this not the very definition of treason?

Mandatory Voting – Obama Fundamentally Transforming America

Barack Hussein Obama says he wants to “expand the franchise”, meaning he wishes to defeat Voter ID laws as the one we have in our state of Texas.

Underlying his message is the idea of all persons, including illegal immigrants and immigrants who haven’t successfully earned citizenship, given the right to vote. In the below video, he says we should be making it easier to vote. In other words, he wishes to control all ballots.

He frames his proposal, saying it would “counteract money more than anything. Let’s imagine where this could go.

Follow the progression:

  1. All persons are required to vote. What happens if a voter chooses not to do so? Think: ObamaCare penalties. Taxes. Elections would come under the heel of the Internal Revenue Service.
  2. Campaign contributions would become outlawed, if you understand this man’s history..
  3. Debates would be strictly controlled by government to the point of deciding eligibility of candidates.
  4. Ultimately, the leftist Democrat Party would have total control of government.

Compulsory voting is a system in which electors are obliged to vote in elections or attend a polling place on voting day. If an eligible voter does not attend a polling place, he or she may be subject to punitive measures such as fines or community service. As of August 2013, 22 countries were recorded as having laws for compulsory voting and 11 of these 22 countries as enforcing these laws in practice. – Wikipedia

Fines? Community service?

Voting may be seen as a civic right rather than a civic duty. While citizens may exercise their civil rights (free speech, right to an attorney, etc.) they are not compelled to. Furthermore, compulsory voting may infringe other rights. For example, Jehovah’s Witnesses and most Christadelphians believe that they should not participate in political events. Forcing them to vote ostensibly denies them their freedom of religious practice. In some countries with compulsory voting, Jehovah’s Witnesses and others may be excused on these grounds. If however they are forced to go to the polling place, they can still use a blank or invalid vote.

Similarly, compulsory voting may be seen as an infringement of Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which guarantees freedom of political opinion and thus the right of citizens to believe in a political system other than a democratic one, such as an absolute monarchy. However, it may also be argued that citizens may legitimately be required to vote since the right to believe in a different political system does not conflict with the obligation to conform with legal requirements of the system in place.

Another argument against compulsory voting, prevalent among legal scholars in the United States, is that it is essentially a compelled speech act, which violates freedom of speech because the freedom to speak necessarily includes the freedom not to speak. – Wikipedia

Can it work for us? It works for North Korea.

In our country, voting is a duty, not an obligation. Government cannot force us to vote – at least not for the time being.

Be advised. Our Tyrant-in-Chief has less than two years in his term to use his pen and his telephone to trample our republican form of government, the freest nation in the history of the world.

Among elected federal offices the U.S. Senate holds the highest authority over the Supreme Law of the Land. No treaty has the force of law without the approval of two-thirds of senators.

In summary, Mr. Kerry, there is no “deal” without the 2/3 majority agreement of our U.S. Senate.

We have a president who hates America and a Secretary of State who also hates America. What could go wrong?
