Are We Better Off Today Than In 2008?

14.5% of our people are now on Food Stamps and the number grows daily.

“In December 2014, the latest month reported, there were 46,252,064 Americans on food stamps. Food stamp recipients have exceeded 46 million in each month since September 2011.”

Previously, SNAP/Food Stamp participation peaked in September 2008, when some of the 31,586,923 participants were hurricane victims getting a temporary benefit.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the civilian labor force participation rate for people 16 years of age and older was 62.8% end of month February 2015. Free market principles only work 100% of the time, when permitted. Unfortunately, our top-heavy federal government continues to grow, continues to borrow, continues to spend and what do we have to show for all this #BigGovernment? However, a free market cannot exist apart from true liberty and that can only be in the presence of the Holy Spirit, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 3:17 http://ow.ly/KeLcT.

National debt at 0508 hours this Thursday morning, 3/12/2015, was $18,150,451,499,525. That’s 18 TRILLION dollars.

There is no political solution. Temporary relief may come in the form of totalitarian government, but no dictator, including this sitting socialist president, can save us.

After consecration of the new temple in Jerusalem, God had this to say to King Solomon (2 Chronicles 7:12-14 NLT).

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this Temple as the place for making sacrifices. At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

I paraphrase: “When all hell breaks loose on you as drought destroys crops, diseases run rampant among you and the economy collapses, if my adopted sons and daughters will put away foolish pride and call on me, desire to truly seek my forgiveness, then I will hear you, forgive your sins and make it all like it never happened.”

Soli Deo Gloria
