For over 20 years, overall crime was on the decline, but something changed. Something terrible has come upon us: “diversity”. The diversity movement is a nice sounding term that is actually the undoing of 150 years of societal integration. It’s a subtle, but evident strategy, a sinister strategy, to divide and conquer the American people.

This divide-and-conquer strategy breaks up a patriotic majority into smaller groups, thereby more easily contained and controlled. This is not to say political tension is a bad thing. Traditional political tension has served us well from before the time of our Revolution against a tyrannical British monarchy up until the time Bill Clinton became president. It is in the atmosphere of political tension that our two-party system has tested ideas in plain view of the public.

The Clintons weren’t the first greedy graspers to assume control of the helm of state. Over the years of our Constitutional Republic there was Teapot Dome and Watergate scandals that negatively affected public trust in federal government. Now, there is a nameless scandal, one that affects national security to greater degree than either of our world wars. This present scandal is a leftist movement to fundamentally reform our government. When Barack Obama said this while campaigning in 2008, his fan club assumed he was talking about making government more transparent and accessible to the people. That was not the meaning at all.

As a refresher, let’s remind ourselves of the background of this sitting president and the people who advise him.

Barack Obama was born to communist parents, raised by communist grandparents, mentored by communists and criminal anarchists, his education funded by a Khalid Mansour (learn about Mansour via this link: ) and he’s an “anti-colonialist” who follows the dreams of his father. Immediately upon taking office, he surrounded himself with extreme leftists like Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, Elena Kagan, Rahm Emanuel, and other known communists, Muslims and rabid atheists like Mikey Weinstein.

Obama and his un-indicted co-conspirators have worked to discredit local law enforcement while stockpiling billions of rounds of ammo and growing federal government radical law enforcement to hitherto never before imagined dimensions and now there is talk of nationalizing law enforcement.

This morning, an article in the Wall Street Journal title “The New Nationwide Crime Wave” describes how the “Ferguson effect” undermines local law and order. It’s helpful to know practically all the public disorder and mayhem are found in “Red States”. Read the WSJ article:

Here in Texas law enforcement organizations have not served well the cause of good public order by demanding authority to demand an open-carry person show a license. I wrote about this on my blog:

I suggest we Texans, particularly those of us in and around Rockwall County work to continue to cultivate civil, respectful relations between citizens and law enforcement officers.

Let’s not be sucked into the “black hole” of cop hating. It didn’t work for us during Vietnam War protests when the left called policemen “pigs” and it won’t work today. Let’s pledge to be on the SAME side of the law. Time may come when you may be called upon to back up a Rockwall police officer.

Finally, after 150 years our Texas Legislature has in the works a bill to allow law-abiding adult Texans to again wear handguns the way they are best worn: out in the open. The Union disarmed southerners during Reconstruction, a time when only “carpetbaggers” and freedmen were allowed to openly carry sidearms. Before the Civil War, Americans were able to wear self-defense weapons nearly 250 years.

Back in the 90’s a concealed-carry movement swept the nation. Texas passed concealed-carry in 1995. At that time law enforcement agencies across the state prattled about their fear of armed Texans. Gradually, over the next several legislative sessions our fellow Texans became accustomed to concealed-carry and a surprising statistic emerged: the arrest and conviction rate for CHL holders is LESS THAN for law enforcement officers. Imagine that.

Throughout the time following applying for and earning my CHL, not one single CHL holder has pulled a gun on me. In fact, not even one criminal has threatened me with a handgun. However, there was one man who did pull his handgun on me. He did it to intimidate me. That man was a Rockwall policeman who is still on the payroll here in our fair city.

The chief issue here is one of a misunderstanding of duty. Duty. A seldom used, seldom understood, seldom applied term. It seems to be a foreign concept to contemporary law enforcement agencies. Let’s consider what ‘duty’ means.

When I was in the Navy back in the 60’s and 70’s, duty was indelibly embedded in my thinking. Duty to us meant others, those we serve, were more important than we were. Putting that into present-day government, if I were a policeman who thought in terms of my duty to the citizens, I would hold the lives of those citizens above my own. We don’t see that today in our police forces. Today, they think their personal safety and comfort is more important than the safety and comfort of the general public.

What is the chief duty of law enforcement officers? Look to the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence for an answer.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…

The chief duty, the most fundamental duty of law enforcement officers is to secure the rights of citizens, not to position themselves as superior beings who deem their rights above all other persons.

The second part of the Second Amendment says,

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed

Law enforcement leaders now stridently opposing behave as they did when the legislature was advancing concealed-handgun legislation, leading to silly rules whereby we had to quickly inform an officer of the presence of a handgun in the car and readily display the license. As time past, two years ago the Legislature made it lawful for any law-abiding adult to have a handgun in their automobile and requirements of declaration of a weapon and display of the CHL have gone by the way.

I urge the Texas legislature, particularly Sen. Bob Hall, Representative Scott Turner and Governor Greg Abbott to not be paralyzed by the unreasonable, selfish fears of law enforcement. Let’s join the majority of these states with sensible open-carry legislation that recognizes the inalienable and declared rights of our citizens.

Obama Rules Through Propaganda – Facts and Truth Are Inconsequential

President Obama declared this week that “climate change” is a greater threat to our military than radical Islamists. He expressed his distress over rising sea level at our Virginia seaside military installations. This would  truly be a serious threat, if true. It’s not.

He says 'climate change' (something that doesn't exist) is more a threat to our military than ISIS (something that DOES exist).

Yes, there is apparent rise in sea level in the Tidewater region, but this is not a case of rising sea level due to melting ice, according  to the U.S. Geological Survey. It is a matter of land subsidence. Let’s go straight to the scientific report titled “Land Subsidence and Apparent Sea Level Rise I the South Chesapeake Bay Region”, by Jack Eggleston and Jason Pope.

Sadly, as a consequence of a nationwide epidemic of ignorance reinforced by a spirit of deception, our fellow citizens believe the lie, ignore the science. This begs the question: Is our president a liar or is he deceived? Regardless, his belief system is truly a greater threat to national security than the sum of radical jihadists wishing to destroy us.

Open-Carry Passes Texas Senate

Thankful the Senate passed Open-Carry and that it’s on its way to Governor Abbott for his signature.

Rarely do Sen. Rodney Ellis and I agree, but on the prohibition of policemen that prevents harassment of law-abiding citizens and racial profiling of minorities, we are in full agreement.

Said Senator Ellis, “If somebody is going to be profiled for walking around the streets of Houston or Austin with a gun, someone who looks like me is more likely to get stopped.” Senator Ellis is a black man. I agree wholeheartedly.

44 of our 50 states were already open-carry states. Texas and California were among the 6 that prohibit open-carry. Why? In a word: racism.

Our post-Reconstruction state legislature (all Democrats) didn’t like the idea of former slaves walking around with handguns. A law prohibiting Texans from carrying handguns was passed to disarm the freedmen, but it backfired. As a consequence, all law-abiding Texans were barred from ordinary armed self-defense until 1995 when Gov. George Bush signed the concealed-carry bill into law.

It took a lot of years for many Texans, particularly business owners, to become accustomed to concealed-carry. It will take a lot of years for many Texans to become accustomed to open-carry. Let’s be patient with them.

You will notice that the appearance of an armed law enforcement officer in a public place does not arouse hysteria (Eeeek! He’s got a gun!). The subtle belief is “only government should have guns”. Well, our fellow citizens, including the liars from Moms Against Guns and Michael Bloomberg, must come to grips with a Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms.

Our third President and Founding Father Thomas Jefferson spoke the obvious: “The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

Assailants will soon learn whom they can and whom they cannot easily attack with confidence.

Green Thinking Will Bankrupt America

Wind power, solar power, biomass, wood stoves, nuclear power, coal-fired power, natural gas-fired power and propane-fueled power – So many variables, how can we compare the efficacy of one electrical power source to another? The answer is “energy density”.

Energy density is an expression of how much energy can be extracted with 100% thermal efficiency and 100% burn-up.

At present, coal is the least costly and most abundant fuel source available for production of low-cost, reliable electrical energy. Some facts about coal:

  • 86% of coal extracted is used for domestic electrical production
  • 37% of ALL electrical energy in the US of A comes from coal-fired power plants

Here within our ERCOT service region of Texas, coal contributes 36% and natural gas 41.1% to our principle state electrical grid. Wind power at 10.6% is catching up to nuclear at 11.6%, but think about this.

Anyone who drives Texas will come across highly visible ‘wind farms’ where enormous windmills convert wind to electricity. Each blade of a given windmill is the length of the trailer of an over-the-road truck, as often seen on our highways.

Pollution-free energy? How can we go wrong? Well, in fact, it’s not “pollution-free”. Do they emit audible noise? But, audible isn’t the noise to worry about. According to Dr. Alec N. Salt, (of Washington University in St. Louis), “There are several ways that infrasound could affect you even though you cannot hear it.”


Economics of Green Energy

Germany and much of Europe bought into the green energy scheme. How has green energy affected those countries? Focusing on Germany, consumer electrical rates have steadily risen from 26 cents/kWh in 2012 to almost 30 cents/kWh in 2014. [Reference: Eurostat Statistics Explained 2014 ]

Just for bonus points, note that Al Gore has a 100-foot houseboat and travels extensively. His ‘carbon footprint’ dwarfs the sum of all your neighbors. Likewise the Obama clan that squanders the national treasury to fund lavish and many vacations while burning hundreds of thousands of gallons of jet fuel.

Bottom Line

There is an inversely proportional relationship between the cost of energy (all, including electrical, gas, gasoline, Diesel, etc.) and employment. And, there is a direct relationship between the cost of energy and inflation. [Reference: Bureau of Labor Statistics ]

Ideologues who worship the mantras of anthropogenic ‘global warming’, ‘climate change’ and all things ‘green’ eagerly and with great determination wish to prevent man from harming their god mother earth. Wrapped within their culture of ignorant idolatry are desires to destroy capitalism and to depopulate the earth in order to protect their false god.

Is the earth overpopulated? Even the nation of India, despite what you may perceive from movies and novels is not overpopulated. In fact, our state of New Jersey has a population density comparable to that of India and New Jersey is well known as “The Garden State” where deer are hunted. A zeal to depopulate the earth is the chief motivation behind vicious attacks on unborn American babies. Consider liberal New York State that recently passed a law allowing injection of poison into the hearts of babies yet in the womb. There is nothing glorious about the green agenda, my friends.

God gave us abundant natural resources to supply our every need for farmland, fuel, water and living space until such time as he brings to an end life on earth as we know it. That’s why we have virtually inexhaustible reserves of oil, natural gas, coal, farmland, forests, etc. I’ll publish more about forests and their relationship with our carbon cycle in another blog post.
