Is ISIS something to be feared? I say, no. Neither do I fear either cobras or rattlesnakes. Like poisonous snakes, ISIS fighters are not persons to fear, but persons against whom you should protect yourself.

In the Old Testament book of Isaiah, we read about the end of Satan’s reign of destruction.

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground—mighty though you were against the nations of the world…. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, “Can this be the one who shook the earth and the kingdoms of the world? Can this be the one who destroyed the world and made it into a shambles, who demolished its greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?”” [Isaiah 14:12-17 TLB]

What will bring to an end Satan’s multi-thousand-year rampage of deception, death and destruction? Find the answer to this question in 1 John 3:8 NKJV.

“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

My Spanish version says it better, using the verb “deshacer“, to undo, to untie, to unmake, rather than “destruir“, to destroy, to demolish.

Jesus who raised Lazarus from the dead can raise you up out of your sinful past. Those whom he redeems he also renews by undoing, unmaking, the old man into a new creature. As it is written, “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

No doubt you can immediately tell the difference between a used car made to look new and a truly new car never before owned. The differences are unmistakable. Such is the new life in Jesus Christ. Jesus is nearby and ready to answer you, ready and willing to make you into a new creature.

Back Off, Barack – Thou Shalt Not Infringe

November 28, 2015 AD

In the news this Saturday afternoon in the aftermath of a shooting at a Colorado abortion clinic:

Obama denounces gun violence after latest deadly shooting

Washington (AFP) – US President Barack Obama denounced the country’s epidemic of gun violence on Saturday and renewed a call for tougher controls on military-style weapons after yet another deadly shooting, saying “enough is enough.” – Yahoo! News Read more:

The Colorado shooting is Obama’s opportunity to carry out his agenda to disarm Americans, an agenda that took root back when he was Senator Barack Obama (D-IL).

President Obama hopes to make gun control the top issue of his final year in office, saying Americans aren’t more violent than other people but they “have more deadly weapons to act out their rage.” – The Washington Times, Tuesday, November 17, 2015, Obama says gun control to be top issue of final year

Translation: It’s not that there are bad people; only guns are bad. He seems to be channeling Bill Clinton’s Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders whose infamous idiocy we remember from her statements on crime reduction, as recorded in the following Rush Limbaugh TV video starting at minute 1:48.

Who’s killing whom?

For the record, let’s look at 2015 causes of deaths to see if our president has his priorities straight.

Death Toll from Jan 1, 2015 – Nov 28, 2015
Watch real time death counts via this link:

Cause of Death
Number of Deaths
1 Abortion: 991,931
2 Heart Disease: 541,903
3 Cancer: 523,839
4 Tobacco: 317,924
5 Obesity: 278,865
6 Medical Errors: 190,754
7 Stroke: 117,116
8 Lower Respiratory Disease: 129,843
9 Accident (unintentional): 114,850
10 Hospital Associated Infection: 89,927
11 Alcohol: 90,835
12 Diabetes: 67,065
13 Alzheimer’s Disease: 77,186
14 Influenza/Pneumonia: 48,893
15 Kidney Failure: 38,843
16 Blood Infection: 30,397
17 Suicide: 35,896
18 Drunk Driving: 30,710
19 Unintentional Poisoning: 28,848
20 All Drug Abuse: 22,713
21 Homicide: 15,259
22 Prescription Drug Overdose: 13,625
23 Murder by gun: 10,440
24 Texting while Driving: 5,440
25 Pedestrian: 4,542
26 Drowning: 3,556
27 Fire Related: 3,179
28 Malnutrition: 2,518
29 Domestic Violence: 1,326
30 Shot by Police: 1,003
31 Smoking in Bed: 709
32 Falling out of Bed: 544
33 Killed by Falling Tree: 136
34 Struck by Lightning: 74
35 Mass Shooting *: 43
36 Spontaneous Combustion: 0

Of the 36 causes of death, “Mass Shootings” are number 35, while “Shot by Police” is number 30. Obama-style conclusion: “Enough is enough. We must disarm police officers.” Well, that’s a senseless argument.

Look at number 6 on the list, Medical Errors, and number 10, Hospital Associated Infection. You are 27 times more at risk of death from being a patient in a hospital than you are of being shot by someone’s gun. Do you hear this president call for our people to avoid doctors or hospitals?

As of the date of this writing, 991,931 Americans have been murdered in and out of the womb by abortionists. Would it not be a common sense policy for Obama to say, “Enough is enough. We must outlaw all abortions.”?

I give these three examples to dismiss Obama’s disarmament scheme as ludicrous.

Personal to Mr. Barack Hussein Obama: What is it about the phrase “shall not be infringed” you do not understand?

Action Item

Contact your congressional delegation and your state legislature. Tell them to oppose Obama’s unconstitutional anti-Second Amendment scheme to disarm us during his lame-duck last year in office.

Oh, for wisdom…

You don’t need more taxes to balance the budget. Congress needs the discipline to stop ronald_reagan_largespending more, and that can be done with the passage of a constitutional amendment to balance the budget. Congress needs to reform its budget process, at least by breaking up those massive, catch-all spending bills into individual parts. That way, each part can stand on its own.” – Ronald Reagan, Radio Address to the Nation on the Federal Debt Ceiling Increase and Deficit Reduction, September 26, 1987

Is There A Cure?

“Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning…rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil…And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.” Prophet Joel 2:12-25 KJV

CIA “Snow”-den Job – Blame Goes Everywhere But At Their Own Feet

26 November 2015government files on us

In the aftermath of Muslim mayhem and murder in Paris, the CIA exploits public fear to drive public opinion in favor of government snooping into our everyday communications. Is this what you want? Government reading and listening to your personal and intimate conversations?

The CIA’s line attributes terrorist’s attacks on “Internet encryption, Silicon Valley’s privacy policies, and Edward Snowden“. When you know the facts, you will attribute attacks by terrorists on the incompetency of the intelligence folks.

The Jihadist Handbook was available on-line months before Muslim’s hijacked crashed airliners into the WTC and the Pentagon. What preventive actions were taken, knowing the plans of Muslim terrorists? Nothing. Nada. Subsequently, over 3,000 perished on September 11, 2001.

The CIA and other federal agencies adamantly say they must be able to listen to our telephone conversations, scan our social media sites and read our emails to deter future attacks. You can be sure this essay will be “scanned” and you will be tagged as having read it. Do you feel safer now?

Was it the NSA, CIA, FBI or any other federal agency that was able to predict terroristic bombing attacks on the Boston Marathon? No. Not even one of them. Was it cyber security measures that captured the surviving Tsarnaev brother? No. A homeowner found a bleeding Tsarnaev hiding in his boat in the backyard.

Not once has the TSA uncovered even one terrorist sneaking aboard an airliner. They have molested our children and wives and fondled us men. Do you feel safer now?

When the TSA tests its gatekeepers, those gatekeepers fail to detect weapons 67 out of 70 tests, that’s a failure rate of over 95%. Do you feel safer now?

While my former congressman Ralph M. Hall was in office, I steadfastly opposed cyber snooping. My present congressman John Ratcliffe voted for NSA funding and I steadfastly oppose it still.

What’s the lesson? What’s the takeaway? You cannot depend on the government to protect you and your family. Self-defense is your personal responsibility. Period.

It’s okay to exercise discernment. It’s okay to discriminate. It’s okay to report suspicious activities. It’s not okay to depend on the federal government to prevent terrorist’s attacks. It’s okay to block potentially dangerous immigrants whose backgrounds cannot be vetted.

Regarding humanitarian aid, we’ve been providing it for many years to refugees while they remain abroad. If you find Obama’s insistence on flooding America with refugees suspicious, you find yourself in good company. I do, also.

Drive Across American History (of debt)

Mile Marker Zero our nation’s financial journey stands at July 4, 1776 when our forefathers declaredmile marker zero independence from Great Britain. The French government and Dutch bankers (chiefly the French government) negotiated loans through the agency of Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. By the end of the revolutionary war, U.S. debt amounted to $2,000,000 (million). Let’s call this era mile marker zero in our nation’s financial history.

Over the years, U.S. dollars became the world’s reserve currency, the “gold standard” for international money. Merchants price everything traded on the high seas and across geographical borders in terms of this reserve currency.

Over intervening years, we have fought numerous wars on borrowed dollars. Such was the case with the War of 1812 through the Great Civil War, WW1, WW2 – all the way to our present middle east conflicts.

In October 2005, 229 years after the founding of this country, the national debt had grown to $8,000,000,000,000 (trillion).

The day Barack Obama took the oath of office on January 20, 2009,  U.S. national Debt was at mile marker 229astounding $10,626,877,048,913.08. The National debt has effectively doubled since his first day in office.

Today, November 26, 2015, passing mile marker 229 of American history, we presently have a whopping national debt of $18,703,974,322,714.00 (trillion).

Our ‘journey’ hasn’t ended. All we know is this presidency comes to a screeching halt at mile marker 231. What will be our situation then?

Present Reality

Wall Street Journal: Falling Corporate Profits Blur U.S. Growth Outlook
Wall Street Journal: Falling Corporate Profits Blur U.S. Growth Outlook

Economic cycles are facts of history. They are governed by principles laid out in the Bible thousands of years ago. Can we recover from another Great Depression?

Taxation moves money from private hands to government. The natural outcome of higher taxation is lower productivity. Lower productivity then yields lower government revenue. Politicians then raise taxes to continue wasteful spending and the cycle continues until there is no more money. Period.

Tax increases don’t eliminate deficits; they increase government spending.” – President Ronald Reagan, Dec. 10, 1981, The Reagan Diaries, page 54

What To Do?

Government is big. Too big. Obama has transformed the IRS, BLM, EPA, DOE, FCC, NOAA, NASA and other ‘alphabet soup’ agencies into his personal propaganda ministries whereby he abuses his constitutional limited authority in unlimited ways to strangle the American economy.

Let’s demand our congressional delegations defund the ‘soup’ and return administration of road sign dead endgovernment to the states, as per the Tenth and Ninth Amendments. If we do not shrink the size of government, America will soon come to the last road sign: DEAD END.

Socialism and its Appeal to Millennials

25 November 2015 AD/13 Kislev 5776

Atheism in the guise of shallow philosophy upholds the economic theory of socialism
Atheism in the guise of shallow philosophy upholds the economic theory of socialism

An article from NPR asks the question, “Why Do Young People Like Socialism More Than Older People Do?

U.S. millennials yearn for socialism. Despite facts of history, even young Russians today embrace and strive for socialism.

Bernie Sanders’ groupies think socialism means “common ownership”. To that, I must say, no, communism is common ownership. Here are the basics of three economic models.

Socialism: You retain private ownership of property, but the government tells you how to use it. This is “slavery”.

Communism: The government owns all property and allows you to use some of it, if you are a true believer. This is “common ownership” and “slavery”.

Capitalism: You own property and you vote for representatives whom you tell how you will use your own property. This is “liberty”.

My dear Cuban friends were born into a communist society that celebrates El Socialismo. In that island country, the communist-socialist system is called La Revolucion (the revolution).

Young Cubans love La Revolucion so much, they risk all to escape it to find freedom on U.S. soil. In contrast, young Americans love socialism so much they rush to visit Cuba.

Those youth who have experienced socialism want nothing to do with it. Those youth who have no experience with socialism cry out for it. Such a conundrum.

So, what is the answer? How is it American and Russian youth in 2015 would yearn for socialism? The answer is simple: Atheism. The teachings of shallow philosophies excite this or that group of young people to this or that “cause”.

George Santayana famously said, “Experience has repeatedly confirmed that well-known maxim of Bacon’s that ‘a little philosophy inclineth a man’s mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men’s minds about to religion.’ At the same time, when Bacon penned that sage epigram… he forgot to add that the God to whom depth in philosophy brings back men’s minds is far from being the same from whom a little philosophy estranges them.”

Yes, atheism. In fact, OFFICIAL ATHEISM enforced in our public schools and universities is at the root of shallow philosophies that incline young minds toward socialism.

How do we turn these young minds about? How do we point them toward successful living?

Public education is beyond the philosophical “tipping point”. It is utterly impossible to restore sound philosophy to public institutions of learning.

We as mature adults have an obligation to God and our progeny to reaffirm Biblical truths. As it is written, you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Naturally, if we adults are to teach Biblical truths to our offspring, then we adults best learn them for ourselves. Long ago I learned the simplicity of training dogs: the trainer must know more than the dog.

If the cruise ship upon which you were sailing was sinking into the abyss and there was but one lifeboat, you would hasten to that solitary salvation.

God is our refuge. The nation sinks into the abyss of atheism and socialism and God is our only hope.

Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs to it and is safe and set on high [far above evil].”

Are you running to that strong tower? Time is short, young Americans.
