Not So Miraculous Birth – Miraculous Conception | All the More Reason to Celebrate Christmas

December 19, 2015 AD/7 Tevet 5776

Virginitas ante partum. This was the miracle.

"Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Bible scholarship points to September as the month of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. If so, counting nine months back, Jesus was therefore miraculously conceived in the month of December.

When the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, he did not predict the birth of Jesus; Gabriel predicted his divine conception. [Ref:]

Throughout all human history has there been only one factual, historically documented instance of parthenogenesis (Parthenos = virgin; Genesis = birth).

Skeptics who decry our Christmas celebration of the birth of our Savior remind us there were no shepherds out in the freezing winter cold in December. To the skeptics, I say, “Suck it up!” I reject all the jibber jabber about ‘pagan holidays’ and such. The fact we celebrate the birth of Jesus in December is no voluntary act of man, no coincidence at all.

In the Hebrew language, the language of the Bible, there is no word for ‘coincidence’, according to Bible scholar Rabbi Daniel Lapin [Ref:]. As such, the reason for the season is the Grace of God that pointed men to this month.

As that “least religious” Founding Father Benjamin Franklin famously said to his fellow framers of our Constitution, “God governs in the affairs of men” [Ref:]

At this time in history, approximately 350,000 babies are born each and every day of the year. Birth is not the miracle. Conception is the miracle of life. Therefore, we have even greater cause to defend the life of children yet unborn. [Ref:]

Therefore, I encourage you to celebrate the birth of the Risen Savior, a Jewish baby, born of a Jewish Virgin, a true descendant of King David, in a dusty straw-strewn barn, the month of September.

We Americans are at great risk of God’s judgment over many sinful things. Young and old alike have been led astray from our nation’s history, from a time when our government honored God to this time where even the mention of the name of Jesus Christ in a public place can result in arrest and imprisonment. We are indeed in great need of a savior.

I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be upon my lips.

My hope is for a wave, a veritable flood of the Holy Spirit upon our people to awaken us, to point us to the Way, the Truth and the Life found in no other than Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, Jesus the Christ.
