Subject: Domestic Terrorism

You know me for my political views as a conservative Republican, TEA Party leader, and small business owner. You probably also know me as a father and grandfather who has lived in Rockwall County thirty years.

Regarding my potential to perpetrate domestic terrorism, I am an honorably discharged Navy veteran and I hold the distinction of being a civilian Vietnam War veteran.

A Texas License to Carry (LTC/CHL) stands as a witness to my behavior. We, as a group, who bear such license have a lower arrest and conviction record than uniformed law enforcement officers

We are all sensitive to the clear and present danger posed by Muslim terrorists here and abroad. Yesterday, I discovered a form of domestic terrorism more disturbing to me than attacks by radicalized Muslims like Omar Mateen, the homosexual Muslim who slaughtered 49 innocent partygoers at The Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, injuring many others.

As a matter of official record in the January 21, 2016 minutes of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Advisory Council Meeting – Open Session, Jeh Johnson, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and City of Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo have marked patriotic Americans like me as domestic terrorism threats on a par with Muslim terrorists that have murdered thousands of innocent Americans in recent years here on our soil.

From the minutes of that DHS meeting, I point to one troubling paragraph:

“Member Acevedo reminded the Council that the threat from right-wing extremists domestically is just as real as the threat from Islamic extremism. Secretary Johnson agreed and noted that CVE, by definition, is not solely focused on one religion. Member Goldenberg seconded Member Acevedo’s remarks and noted the importance of online sites in right wing extremist communities, not only in America but worldwide.”

My website and my politics pose a threat to national security on a par with Muslim mass murderers, Cong. Ratcliffe? Do you agree Christians are equal to Muslims as potential threats to the general welfare of our population?

I expect you to rebuke Jeh Johnson and Art Acevedo. Furthermore, I ask you to de-fund any and all DHS functions that could pursue preposterous, liberty-threatening actions by this federal bureaucracy.
