Waiting until election day to vote? Really?

If you have lots of free time to stand in line, be sure to bring along your family photo albums to show the people behind you and ahead of you as you wait for hours to vote on November 8.

You can vote EARLY. That’s right! You don’t have to wait for Election Day. I don’t. Never. No, not me. I hate standing in long lines. Surely you have better things to do than stand for hours in line, hoping the voting machines don’t develop problems.

Who qualifies to vote early? You Do! Yes, all registered voters are allowed to vote early. In fact, the Elections Office highly recommends you vote early.

Paper or Electronic ballot?

For me, this is a no-brainer. Paper is faster. Much faster. Paper cannot be ‘hacked’ electronically AND the State of Texas can always recount paper ballots. Another plus: you sit while voting paper. You stand while voting electronically.

Things to remember:

1 – Register to vote. October 11 is next week and the last day you can register. If you are not registered, you cannot vote. Period.

2 – Vote Early. Get on with your life.

3 – Use paper ballots for speed and reliability.

4 – Know your candidates. I do. In my case, I’ll be voting for Republican candidates.

5 – Vote all the way down the ballot. The office holders who will most affect your life are at the bottom of the ballot: Judges, Justices, State Representatives, etc.

We are a government Of the People, By the People, and For the People.

When you vote, you get the government you want. When you do not vote, you get the government you deserve.
