What’s Left For Democrat Die Hards?

What best describes the 2017 Democratic Party?

Clue Number 1

The Daily Caller’s Phillip Stuckey was undercover with protesters that stormed The Heritage Foundation this morning (25 April 2017).

The above story reveals how Democrat protesters are paid actors and they do not represent the citizens, but are tools of the corrupt leaders who control all things Democrat.

Clue Number 2

The Washington Times - Abortion question opens rift among democrats over direction of party.png
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, said there is an “enormous disconnect” between rank-and-file Democrats — one-quarter to one-third of whom identify as pro-life — and party leadership, to whom abortion is sacrosanct.

Clue Number 3

The Democratic Party prefers a minority of persons experiencing GID – gender identity disorder – over the constitutional rights of America’s women and children.

In Summary

The Democratic Party is the party of atheist, bigots, racists, death, and anarchists. Let’s thrown a deep and abiding relationship with Marxists-socialists.

The clearest demarcation between hardcore Democrats and the rest of us is the official militant pro-death, pro-abortion plank in the Democrat party platform.

I was a Democrat who was born and raised in south Texas where everyone was a Democrat. I can’t recall even one person who would admit to being a Republican. Most of us were Harry Truman Democrats.

Jimmy Carter’s election was the turning point for me. I campaigned for him and I voted for him, but four years later I voted in the Republican primary for Ronald Reagan and a slate of Republican candidates.

What will the pro-life Democrats do now?

State Sen. Bob Hall: Senate Bill 1356, A Real Solution to “Texting While Driving”

The following is from an email from Texas SD-2 Senator Bob Hall. I fully agree with SB 1356. Please read his message and respond with your input. Pilots in command and drivers behind the wheel bear responsibility for harm to fellow travelers, whether airborne or zipping down a public thoroughfare. – John White, Rockwall, Texas

Senate Bill 1356, A Real Solution to “Texting While Driving”

The Texas House has passed and the Senate has considered in committee legislation that would create a misdemeanor offense of using a handheld device to read, write, or send a text-based communication while operating a moving vehicle that is not stopped. Regrettably, the proposed solution will actually increase vehicle accidents.

Distracted driving that results in a vehicle accident (18 percent of all accidents) is a serious problem that needs a serious solution. But research does not support the banning of hand-held electronic devices to solve this issue. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (a premier organization on the issue) has multiple studies that show no decrease in accidents when cell phone bans were implemented. In fact, in many instances, accidents actually increased after the ban. Also, the data shows that prohibiting the use of cell phones has done little to stop the use of cell phones while driving. Banning is not the answer.

Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2013 show distracted driving accounted for 10 percent of all fatal crashes. Of that 10 percent of accidents, only 14 percent of crashes involved the use of a cell phone. In other words, 86 percent of fatal “distracted driving” accidents were caused by activity other than cell phones which was only 1.5 percent of all accidents.

  • “Distracted driving” is more serious than just cell phone use.
  • Distracted driving includes all distractions.
  • Texting bans do not reduce accidents.
  • 2013 Data:
    • Total injured – 2,213,000 (100 percent)
    • Distracted driving – 424,000 (18 percent)
    • Cell phone use – 34,000 (1.5 percent)

Senate Bill 1356 would provide that any person causing a collision from the operation of a moving motor vehicle commits an offense if the person is engaged in an activity that is not related to the operation of the motor vehicle and interferes with the driver’s ability to pay attention to the road. An offense would be a Class C misdemeanor for minimal damage, or a state jail felony if the collision results in serious bodily injury or death.

The bill would prohibit local authorities from regulating or prohibiting distracted driving, ending the patchwork of regulation we currently have in place. Existing statutes prohibiting the cell phone use by minor drivers and cell phone use in school zones would not be affected.

If we want to improve vehicle safety and reduce the problem of distracted driving, we must address the whole distracted driving issue, not just a fraction of it. An accident caused by a distraction other than cell phone use is no less serious than the one caused by an individual on their cell phone. And, if the statistics are correct, it is much more likely to occur.

That is why I have filed Senate Bill 1356 which would address the reduction of distracted driving accidents by focusing on the punishment of the consequences, rather than the banning of any specific activity. Driving is a serious responsibility and failure to recognize that should be treated seriously.

Rockwall – Retail Business Changes On The Horizon

A recent survey mailed to residents of the City of Rockwall asked what businesses our people wish to have along Interstate 30 highway. At some time in the near future, look for exit signs like these below.

Retail Stores

Blue Ribbon News: City of Rockwall seeks resident input for I-30 corridor expansion

Perhaps a better question is, what businesses will remain along the I-30 corridor through Rockwall?

The U.S. economy is undergoing a major shift akin the Industrial RevolutionThe Internet of Things (IoT).

Forbes: These 21 Retailers Are Closing 3,591 Stores — Who Is Next?

The above article was published March 20, 2017. Across the country, ‘big box’ and small retail stores are closing. In fact, the Sears (Sears and Roebuck) company revealed substantial doubt about its ability to stay in business in an annual report filed March 21, 2017.

Sears is by no means alone in shuttering its stores. Macy’s, Sports Authority, and Radio Shack are among declining retailers. Wal-Mart isn’t far behind, by the way.

U.S. population continues to grow, so it’s not a matter of population decline affecting retail businesses. We continue to eat to our heart’s content, enjoy vacations abroad, and buy new homes and cars. Where go the customers?

On-line sales now dominate the marketplace and Amazon.com leads the pack.

Investors Business Daily: Retailers Face 2017 ‘Reckoning,’ More ‘Sad Malls’ As Amazon Keeps Booming

Sears and Montgomery Ward preceded Amazon. Something, a new marketing, and a new delivery experience will make Amazon.com obsolete.

There is no reason to panic (unless you work for one of the ‘big box’ stores.

Change is the one true constant in life.change is the only constant
Wall Street Journal: Brick-and-Mortar Stores Are Shuttering at a Record Pace

There is no reason to believe that this will abate at any point in the foreseeable future,” said Mark Cohen, the director of retail studies [at] Columbia Business School and a former executive at Sears Canada Inc. and other department stores.

What I See Ahead

Big-box stores will be much fewer. In their places, newer and smaller businesses will set up shop, partitioning the former store occupant’s space.

I expect to see small showroom stores that allow a prospective customer to see and touch products that will be ordered on-line and delivered to the customer’s home or place of business.

What do I want to see along the Rockwall I-30 corridor? I want a thriving retail environment unhampered by idealistic urban planners whose burdensome designs and regulations cause business owners and investors to go elsewhere.

While shopping for a birthday gift for my daughter yesterday (22 Apr. 2017), my inability to read store signs hidden from view by trees greatly irritated me. A former city councilman, an honest-to-goodness progressive, said signs are unnecessary because we have the internet.

By no means do I want the dead shopping mall syndrome to overtake Rockwall.

Can’t happen here, you say? Really? Allow me to take you on a tour of dead shopping malls across the great state of Texas. Reference DeadMalls.com

Home Depot and Lowe’s big-box stores have a large inventory of stuff, but I find the local Ace Hardware Store to likely stock specialty hardware of all kinds than do the big-box stores.

I remember hearing it said that Home Depot would put Ace Hardware out of business. If anything, Ace is busier now than ever.

All the above is not meant as doom-and-gloom, but to draw your attention to the inevitable changes that will come to our city.

Unfortunately, I sense the next Rockwall City Council will move toward the progressive left with unrealistic urban planning and more onerous governmental regulations.

Because our residents are unwilling to take the time to participate, to learn how government works. Progressive activists will take control of city government. As government gets bigger the cost of government will also greatly rise. Liberty is inversely proportional to the size of government. As government becomes larger, our liberties diminish.

I expect unbridled housing construction to introduce huge challenges to water resources.

The Rockwall Open Spaces people work to preserve green spaces, nature trails, and recreational areas in the rest of Rockwall County but when money talks, landowners will sell to the highest bidder.  And, you can be sure there will be fierce competition from developers of homesites and apartment complexes. I-30 is the draw.

I’ll be addressing transportation issues in another blog.

Muslims organize to Islamicize Amazon

Un-American labor union SEIU stands with three Muslim contractor employees of Amazon to Islamicize the workplace.

Tyranny of the Minority – Read the full story via this link: http://bit.ly/2oTHsVQ

Getting straight to the humorous part of the story, the SEIU says “a strongly worded letter” from the “Seattle faith community” would be delivered to Amazon during the rally planned outside the company’s headquarters.

So now the SEIU posits itself as a leader of the religious people of Seattle.

The Muslim protestors are not employees of Amazon. They are employees of a security services contractor just so there be no misunderstanding. Speaking as a business owner, Amazon has absolutely no obligation whatsoever to provide special accommodations for persons not in the employ of Amazon.

I encourage Amazon, a company from whom my home and my business receive packages on a nearly daily basis, to stand against Islamists who would take over the operations of the company.

The Swedes, French, Germans, Brits, and the people of Michigan and Minnesota can attest to the consequences of submitting to the tyranny of Islam.

The great divide between Judeo-Christian western societies and Muslim societies lies along the lines of the value of life. We in the west generally revere life while Islam is steeped in a culture of death.

While true there are more nice Muslims than mean ones, the big problems arise out of the minority of the mean ones.

To further your understanding of the SEIU labor union, I recommend you read from the Washington Times, PATTERSON: Labor unions and communism

It’s Saturday, the Sabbath – Forgiveness is the gift that keeps on giving

Tekoa is a little town five miles south of Bethlehem. Except for its place in history, it forgive us our trespassesremains a nondescript place in Israel.

King David’s son Absalom was by no means a model son. David was estranged from this son.

General Joab, David’s nephew and head of the Israeli army, sought to reconcile the two men. Joab asked a woman known for her wisdom to play out a little drama before the King.

You can read the story for yourself from 2 Samuel 14.

That wise woman of Tekoa said to King David, “All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.

The key to being forgiven of your own sins is to readily forgive others of their sins against you.

Hypocrisy is an ever present foible of mankind. Regardless our outward appearances, regardless our religious associations. The Bible says, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Today is day 7. It’s the Sabbath. Let’s purpose to give our grudges and unforgiveness a rest.

By grace, God facilitates forgiveness and reconciliation. Facilitate means he makes it easy to do. Forgiveness pleases God.

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” Grace defined – Philippians 2:13.

ACLU continues its assault on commonsense legislation crafted to protect vulnerable women and children

In an email today, the ACLU says, “North Carolina should truly repeal its unjust HB2 law that permits discrimination against LGBT people — and we’re calling on the NCAA to refuse to allow championship games to take place in NC until that happens.”

What’s wrong with the above ACLU complaint? Let’s do a little reality check.

ACLU and the LGBTQ-Whatever Confusion

While the left’s popular euphemism for homosexuality is the acronym LGBTQ, homosexuality remains a same-sex attraction.

Here’s the fun part. Are you ready, ACLU?

Men who are afflicted with same-sex attraction have no interest in the invasion of women’s restrooms, dressing rooms, and gymnasium showers. Homosexual men prefer men. Is this too deep for you? I’ll pull back and elaborate somewhat.

Women with same-sex attraction are not interested in men. Like homosexual men, they have no interest in the invasion of men’s restrooms, dressing rooms, and gymnasium showers. Does this help?

The North Carolina HB2, like a similar bill before the Texas Legislature, was crafted to protect vulnerable women and children from sexual predators, guys who wish to walk into women’s restrooms, dressing rooms, and gymnasium showers with impunity. These heterosexual males are perverts and creeps who are generally unwelcome in the aforesaid facilities reserved for women and young children.

I know, I know. I’ve written some facts about life that challenge your baseless complaints, but you will eventually gain understanding (aka common sense) if you re-read the above several times, clicking your heels together while repeatedly saying, “I’m not in the women’s restroom. I’m not in the women’s restroom. I’m not in the women’s restroom.”

Urgent prayer request – Venezuela has run out of other people’s money

As Margaret Thatcher wisely noted about the end of socialism, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

urgent call to prayer for Venezuela

“The South American nation of Venezuela is about to erupt.

“Thousands of citizens are fed up and are now taking to the streets to express their anger and frustration towards President Nicolas Maduro, a man that has forced a sizable portion of the population to go to bed hungry and live without the necessary medications they need to stay alive.

“And according to the Economist, that’s not all, inflation is estimated to exceed 1,600% this year, a situation that will make it even more difficult for the average person to purchase food when it’s available.” CBN News, 12 April 2017 http://tinyurl.com/mxdl94a

no hay comida en Venezuela

“To say life is hard in Venezuela is an understatement. The socialist regime has continued to fail their people in every way imaginable. Thousands of natives are forced to stand in lines for necessities like food and medicine. In January the first infant death from starvation in Venezuela this year was reported. Citizens have had to take measures including the consumption of dogs, cats, and exotic animals in an extreme attempt to survive.” – Natural News, 14 February 2017 http://tinyurl.com/l3d4e4k

Most of South America is struggling economically, nutritionally, and spiritually. The empty promises of socialism remind us that socialism shall forever remain an unproven economic theory.

My Cuban friends endured a similar fate after the Soviet Union withdrew its support from that island bastion of socialism.

I invite your prayers of intercession for the desperate people of Venezuela. Their chief need is a nationwide spiritual revival. Between now and such time there comes a spiritual revival, ask the Lord to deliver the people from the ham-fisted tyranny of a socialist government led by a belligerent former bus driver.
