Is the ban on sanctuary cities needed? Democrats nabber against it. The Mexican government is in a tizzy because citizens of that country will not enjoy a free ride in our country.
But, was it necessary? In a word, no.
Why?
The Supremacy Clause found in Article VI of our U.S. Constitution says, “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States,…shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”
On all matters immigration, federal laws trump state laws. Period.
Municipal governing officials who harbor illegal immigrants violate existing federal law.
Does what I write above make sense? Yes, but only to a people who believe in the Rule of Law.
Democrats have become the party of anarchy and lawlessness.
John F. Kennedy and Harry Truman would be Republicans were they to be alive today.
