What’s happening in the Land of the Free, the Home of the
Brave? How is it law enforcement officers and prosecutors have become common targets? Who or what is behind well-organized mobs disrupting town hall meetings with the obvious intent to silence our elected representatives?
A San Bernardino County prosecutor in the midst of a gang-murder trial was bloodied and beaten into unconsciousness Thursday while on a morning jog in Newport Beach. She wasn’t robbed or raped. She is a prosecutor in a gang-related murder trial. You guess the motive.
San Bernardino is the most dangerous city in California, according to LA Weekly.
Why is San Bernardino the most dangerous California city?
Important factors: a very high degree of poverty, a very high cost of living, and FIVE criminal gangs (4 black, 1 Hispanic).
What are common factors associated with gang violence?
3-High cost of living
5-Generous welfare program
6-Metropolitan residents believe government can solve all their problems
You can understand how it is that a cluster of poor people who believe government can solve all their problems (hunger, housing, health), will naturally assume that the municipal government that does not solve their problems is responsible for their problems.
The bottom line: Government welfare programs strive to make welfare recipients comfortable instead of striving to make them capable of independent living.
How do we change this downward spiral toward anarchy and public disorder? Founding Father Benjamin Franklin knew the answer to this question:
“I am for doing good to the poor, but…I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty but leading or driving them out of it. I observed…that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”
Even earlier in history, almost 2,000 years ago, in fact, the Apostle Paul said, “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”
How do we move poor people from government dependency to joining the independent living?
Hunger is a time-proven incentive to work for a living.
Do you know that the labor participation rate (a pleasant alternative to unemployment rate) is 62.9%? 100-62.9=37.1% actual unemployment. FYI – at the peak of the Great Depression unemployment was 25%. (BLS stats http://bit.ly/2jn32Nw)
Where do all the millions of illegal immigrants work? Do I have to tell you the answer? Illegal immigrants do in fact work millions of jobs left open by the welfare system.
If government welfare programs have worked against the people for whom the government programs were created, does it not stand to reason that it’s time to change from business-as-usual to common sense alternatives?
