Due to ratification of the Seventeenth Amendment, U.S. senators are no longer accountable to the people of the respective states through the agency of the state legislatures.

Senators like Cornyn spend more time fund-raising than serving the interests of their constituents.

The news story linked above was published on 15 June 2016. Feinstein and Cornyn stated their goal then was to develop “gun control legislation that would make it harder for people on the federal terror watch list to purchase firearms or explosives”.

It’s 2017 and it’s Liberal/RINO déjà vu all over again.

The Seventeenth Amendment eviscerates the republican form of government our Founding Fathers specified in Article IV, Section 4 of our U.S. Constitution.

Our only defense is a Convention of States to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, a process provided to us in Article V of the Constitution. No, this is not a constitutional convention to re-write the Constitution, is the ‘safety valve’ mechanism our Founding Fathers provided us for the purpose of proposing constitutional amendments.

  1. Though I cannot support a “CONVENTION OF STATES” i believe Senator Cornyn has drifted too far left to represent Texas. Coming from one of the most REPUBLICAN & CONSERVATIVE counties in Texad, i have seen him in Rockwall only one time during his tenure in the Senate much less when he held other offices in the state. This tells me one thing for sure, he is part of the “swamp” our president says that needs to be drained!
When it has been proven gun control laws are not the problem..people are & here he goes trying to restrict our 2nd amendment rights with one of the most LIBERAL GUN CONTROL SENATORS IN THE “SWAMP”!…he needs to come home & live on his PENSIONS & let someone else take the helm!
