Left: Raul Castro blindfolds his murder victims.
Below: Three Victims of Castro’s 16,000 murder victims.
“Raúl Castro, [a] longtime member of Cuba’s Council of State, has been signing execution orders for years. But, his killing career began early on. In 1956, while in exile in Mexico, he murdered a former comrade. During the revolutionary struggle in the mountains, he executed deserters and informants. In the early days of the Revolution, while in charge of the Oriente province, he had hundreds of men killed. In one day alone, he ordered at least 72 men executed without trial in the city of Santiago. All throughout the night of January 12, 1959, and into the following day, successive groups of men were lined up in front of ditches at San Juan Hill and shot by firing squads. Raúl is reported to have gleefully delivered the coup d’gra[s] on a few. Afterward, a bulldozer was brought in to cover the mass graves. Among the victims was policeman Benito Cortés, an American citizen born in Puerto Rico and father of five. In 1966, Raúl had the bodies exhumed, encased in concrete, and dumped into deep waters off the coast of Cuba.” Excerpt from the Canada Free Press, Raul Castro’s Long History of Crimes Against Humanity, February 25, 2008
A Cuban friend whom my wife and came to know while on missions to Cuba spoke to me about Raul Castro’s bloody activities in and around Santiago de Cuba. She said, “I can show you the pits where the bodies are buried.”
Now, this is in the news…
A delegation of Democrat senators traveled to Cuba to align themselves with the communist ruler of Cuba.
“The embargo makes no sense. And the reversal of the policies that Presidents Barack Obama and Raul Castro negotiated doesn’t help the United States or Cuba. This (Trump’s recalling most of our embassy staff in Cuba) is a grave error which harms the interests of both governments and peoples and above all those who need to visit either country for family or business purposes.” Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), February 21, 2018.
Sen. Leahy’s appreciation for the communist dictator follows precisely that of former President Obama. You will remember how Obama attended a baseball game with Raul Castro where he participated in a crowd wave. It was Obama who ended the wet-foot/dry-foot refugee policy whereby any Cubans who could set foot on American soil before capturing by federal authorities was eligible to stay.
Why did Obama push to end the H.R.927 – Cuban Liberty and Democratic Solidarity (LIBERTAD) Act of 1996? Why did he push to open all travel and trade between the U.S. and Cuba? Read my post titled Obama’s Cuban-Venezuelan Connection – Why He Ends the Cuban Embargo: my opinion.
The left has been enamored by dictators and communists longer than I have been alive. Shortly after the Cuban revolution brought Fidel Castro to power, American youth, inspired by their educators and leftist parents, voluntarily went to Cuba to help with the sugar cane harvest. Let us look back even earlier to Julius and Ethel Rosenberg who gave U.S. military secrets to the Soviet Union.
All consuming love for despots lives today in the hearts and minds of a majority of Democrats.
Don’t waste time attempting to dissuade them; they will not listen, regardless the facts. Instead, discuss the truths of world history, U.S. and local history with your nearest acquaintances and family.
Once a leftist makes hard choices only God himself can change their minds. So, pray for them and pray for all our leaders.
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior…” 1 Timothy 2:1-3
