How the meaning of “Yes we can!” changed with the changed values of the Democratic Party

In 1962, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association to improve working conditions and wages for Mexican American farm workers.

Delores Huerta coined the slogan ¡Sí se puede! – Yes we can! – to inspire farm workers.

The full meaning of the slogan was, “Yes, we can stop illegal immigration from Mexico”.
