The Futility and the Folly of Gun Control

One murder is one too many and reality is what it is: hateful people kill other people. This has been the track record of hateful people since the time of Cain and Able.

As it was written centuries ago in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?”

Murderers, rapists, robbers, and other criminals will be with us until the end of the age. Jesus’ words in 1 John 3:15 affirm this fact. “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

In the process of encouraging the promulgation of more government controls that infringe on one of our natural rights protected by the Bill of Rights, look at the world with a sense of proportion.

Medical mistakes, errors, are the third leading cause of death in the United States, after heart disease and cancer. Shall we make it more difficult to gain entry into a hospital or emergency room?

Over 40,000 Americans perished in automobile accidents in 2017. Shall we restrict driver’s licenses and ownership of vehicles?

In the same year of 2017, while 40,000 people died in car accidents, fewer than half as many died by firearms, 15,549, to be precise.

Death by murder is a reality. You can’t legislate it away. However, we can lose our cherished natural right to self-defense if ignorant, emotional lawmakers and liberal politicians have their way with the Second Amendment.

Hate is a tool of Satan used to forestall God’s plan for the earth. It’s a spiritual problem that cannot be changed through human legislation.

Be informed and always consider the proportionality of death statistics each time there are calls to disarm us.
