Who Stands In The Gap Between The Plague And You?

COVID-19 is not the first coronavirus to strike our global population. On October 5, 2012, the National Select Agent Registry Program published a final rule declaring SARS – COVID-12 – coronavirus a select agent. (A select agent is a bacterium, virus or toxin that has the potential to pose a severe threat to public health and safety.)

The COVID-19 virus has, to date, infected people on all continents except Antarctica, according to a report from CNN. Various health professionals describe the global spread of this new disease as a pandemic.

The people most vulnerable to this newest virus are the elderly, as reported by Statista.

This disease has literally ‘gone viral’ throughout the world. And, unlike most infections, we now know you can have a second round of sickness after you recover from the first.

Now that you know the extent and time line of global infections and how COVID-19, like COVID-12, originated in China, what is an appropriate course of action, action by you and your family?

There are limited choices for prevention of infections: (1) leave it to the government to do all the ‘heavy lifting’ and (2) shield yourself and your family using a technique more effective by far than medical solutions: the Word of God.

This applies only to believers in Jesus Christ.

Your Assignment – Priest

You [believers], like living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house for a holy and dedicated priesthood… 1 Peter 2:5

Your Authority

Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Luke 9:1

Your Duty – Stand between the dead and the living

So Aaron took the burning censer as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and behold, the plague had [already] begun among the people; and he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. He stood between the dead and the living, so that the plague was brought to an end. Numbers 16:46-48

You, as a priest of the Most High God, can stand between you family and other loved ones and any plague that threatens them.

The Expectation

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

For He will save you from … the deadly pestilence. Psalm 91:1-3

Summary

God promises his children a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
