President Trump called-out a single reporter during his daily Coronavirus press briefing Friday; saying the journalist was promoting “sensationalism” at a time when the American people are “looking for answers and hope.” https://bit.ly/3dj6ZPt
Deep into the #GreatDepression, President Franklin Roosevelt came into office. In his inaugural address, he pointed to the way toward a hopeful future, saying:
“This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.”
God raised up FDR at just the right time and he also raised up Donald Trump at just the right time to preserve this nation.
On August 23, 1984, at Prayer Breakfast in Dallas, Texas, President Ronald Reagan astutely stated, “If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
Hope means, “to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence”. Hebrews 11:6 stipulates, requires as a condition for agreement, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
In the Biblical sense of the word hope, it is to have an expectation with reasonable confidence that we will not only endure but come out of this global economic crisis better because of it.
My wife and I also pray according to 1 Timothy 2:2 – “Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.”
The foundation of this nation starts at the ground level. For this reason, let’s pray for ALL in authority, including local governmental officials, the County Judge, and our Mayors, Keith Short, #JanetNichol, #BrianBerry, Jim Pruitt, and #TammyDanaBashian.
