Pope Francis substitutes God’s definitions with his own

“Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it.”

What does it mean to be a child of God?

“By this the children of God and the children of the devil are clearly identified: anyone who does not practice righteousness [who does not seek God’s will in thought, action, and purpose] is not of God, nor is the one who does not [unselfishly] love his [believing] brother.” 1 John 3:10 AMP

God’s position on homosexuality

  • “You shall not lie [intimately] with a male as one lies with a female; it is repulsive.” Leviticus 18:22 AMP
  • “For [God does not overlook sin and] the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who in their wickedness suppress and stifle the truth … Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their own hearts to [sexual] impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin] … For this reason God gave them over to degrading and vile passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural [a function contrary to nature], and in the same way also the men turned away from the natural function of the woman and were consumed with their desire toward one another, men with men committing shameful acts and in return receiving in their own bodies the inevitable and appropriate penalty for their wrongdoing.” Romans 1:18-26 AMP
  • Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in homosexuality … will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God. And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior]. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 AMP

The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behavior or to legal recognition of homosexual unions…. Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean not only the approval of deviant behavior, with the consequence of making it a model in present-day society, but would also obscure basic values which belong to the common inheritance of humanity. The Church cannot fail to defend these values, for the good of men and women and for the good of society itself.

“I find true joy in sharing the love, freedom and restoration I found through my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, whether in my hometown of San Diego or my ‘home away from home’, Ethiopia. I love sharing the testimony of the radical transformation of my life through my love relationship with Jesus. For the first time in my life, I find complete fulfillment in being ‘single’, with my eyes and heart set on my Lord and focused on the call He has on my life and the continued comfort and guidance from the Holy Spirit!” – About the Founder, Kim Zember

For Pope Francis to attempt to normalize homosexuality is to say that Holy Scriptures are false, that our sins really don’t matter, and that we can continue living in them. If that were true, then Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection wouldn’t have been needed. The cross would have been for nothing. No one has the right or the authority to trivialize Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf.

God’s position on salvation of souls and eternal life

The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 AMP

Four homosexuals share how they found freedom in God

Binary choices are humanistic coercion and unrealistic – God extends to us a supernatural third choice. One Biblical example of binary v. supernatural choices is on display in Joshua 5:13-14. When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Joshua who was in the battle of his life, Joshua asked a binary question, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” The angel ignored those two choices saying, “No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of the Lord.” This is the supernatural nature of the Kingdom of God. The world offers binary choices to coerce you into action; God always presents a third choice to liberate you, to come to your rescue.

With respect to the homosexuals you will encounter, first, love them. Love means you care for them, that you want them to experience everlasting life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and you are unwilling to go-along-to-get-along. Speak the truth in love; but don’t be led to believe you have a binary choice.

A 1998 research paper published by the National Institute of Health (NIH), titled Does homosexual activity shorten life? indicates homosexuality generally shortens life.

“The four lines of evidence were consistent with previous findings suggesting that homosexual activity may be associated with a lifespan shortened by 20 to 30 years.”

This fact is not herein exposed to humiliate or to berate homosexuals; it signals our opportunity to be intentional about coming alongside homosexuals with an expectation to lead them to faith in Jesus Christ.

As long life there is hope.
