The Christ Bearer

The vast Inca empire encompassed Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, & Chile

The cancel culture indiscriminately defaces and topples historical statues all around the USA. To the uninformed, ignorant uneducated college graduates who leave college less intelligent than when they entered, Christopher Columbus was vilified by their no-nothing college and high school teachers.

What truly motivated Columbus to sail west from Spain?

In his own words

“It was the Lord who put it into my mind, (I could feel His hand upon me), the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies. All who heard of my project rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me. There is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit, because He comforted me with rays of marvelous inspiration from the Holy Scriptures…

I am a most noteworthy sinner, but I have cried out to the Lord for grace and mercy, and they have covered me completely. I have found the sweetest consolation since I made it my whole purpose to enjoy His marvelous Presence.

For the execution of the voyage to the Indies, I did not make use of intelligence, mathematics or maps. It is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesied… [probably Isaiah 42:1-4]

No one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Savior, if it is just and if the intention is purely for His holy service. The working out of all things has been assigned to each person by our Lord, but it all happens according to His sovereign will, even though He gives advice. Oh, what a gracious Lord, who desires that people should perform for Him those things for which He holds Himself responsible! Day and night, moment by moment, everyone should express their most devoted gratitude to Him.

Translated from the diary of Christopher Columbus

My personal studies of this great man suggest to me God directed him to approach India from the east. At the time, Muslims firmly controlled the routes between Europe and Jerusalem.

Islam had its beginning around 610 Ad and expanded rapidly to control Jerusalem and most of the Middle East.

The Knights Templar, active from 1119 AD to 1312 AD, protected Christian pilgrims on trips to the Holy Land. The Knights even developed a banking system whereby pilgrims made deposits in Europe and withdrawals in Jerusalem to prevent theft by Muslims along the way.

For many years after the fall of the Knights Templar, pilgrimages were highly dangerous.

One clue that suggests to me Columbus saw himself as a latter-day Knight Templar is the cross emblazoned on his ships, the Knights Templar cross. Italian author Ruggero Marino’s book brings forth many fascinating propositions in support of Columbus being the last of the Knights Templar.

The Catholic Church is, without a doubt, the oldest pro-life organization in history. I believe the Holy Spirit led Columbus to make his journey to end human sacrifice, including child sacrifice.

I strongly believe Christopher Columbus was a Jew who became a Christian. One clue: the day he sailed for the New World was the last day Jews could be in Spain.

May God bless the name of Christopher Columbus whom I admire and honor on this Columbus Day 2020 and all hereafter.
