Why the Strident Opposition to School Choice?

school-choice-your-money-your-kids-your-choice

In The Case Against School Choice, the NEA trumpets the union’s rationale for opposing school choice.

  1. School Choice “holds students in public and private schools to different standards“. This is true. Private Schools do not teach to the tests but are student-centered.
  2. There is no need to set up new threats to schools for not performing.” Really? Quality education in an atmosphere of spiritual and intellectual freedom threatens public schools?
  3. “Student achievement ought to be the driving force behind any education reform initiative.” The NEA agrees education reform is badly needed but rejects any influence by parents.
  4. Vouchers were not designed to help low-income children.” Untrue. Parents have had to move their children from private schools to public schools as the cost of living increased and wages have not. Low-income children whose parents want a Christian education for their children are the people most affected. Vouchers would alleviate the problem.
  5. A pure voucher system would only encourage economic, racial, ethnic, and religious stratification in our society.” Nonsense. Bishop Dunne Catholic School, has an ethnic makeup of approximately 1/3 black, 1/3 brown, and 1/3 white and the school is located in a minority community in the southwest area of Dallas.
  6. About 85 percent of private schools are religious. Vouchers tend to be a means of circumventing the Constitutional prohibitions against subsidizing religious practice and instruction.” Wrong, again. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the protection of our right to the free exercise of religion. This statement alone reveals animosity toward the NEA labor union to Christians.

The TSTA (the ‘A’ stands for ‘association’, but it functions as a labor union – my opinion) also stridently opposes School Choice. The term ‘association’ is used because Texas is a right-to-work state.

On February 28, 2017, the TSTA boasted Texas House education chief declares school choice bill DOA.  Joe Straus acolytes like Cindy Burkett and Dan Huberty followed the lead of the liberal speaker of the House in opposition to the 2016 Texas State GOP Platform, item number 147, School Choice, which states:

We believe that all children should have access to quality education. We support the right to choose public, private, charter, or home education. We support the distribution of educational funds in a manner that they follow the student to any school, whether public, private, charter, or home school through means of tax exemptions and/or
credits.

I was a delegate to that convention.

The Texas Home School Coalition succinctly makes the case for school choice:

For 30-plus years, THSC’s position has been to protect and empower parents to make decisions for their children, especially regarding their education. In the 1980s we fought against those who argued that parents were not qualified to teach their children at home so should not be allowed to home school. Our foundational argument against this was that parents have a fundamental, constitutional right to direct the care, control and upbringing of their children and should, therefore, have the right to home school.

Joe Straus will not be speaker next term. Should we reward his lieutenants with another term in office? I say, no.

State Senator Bob Hall is the SD-2 senatorial candidate who stands by the will of the Republican Party of Texas by voting consistently in accord with the party platform.

Learn more about Senator Bob Hall and Representative Cindy Burkett via this link: Texas SD-2 Republican Candidates – How They Compare on Key Issues.

Relatively few students now attend or will in the future attend private schools because the majority of parents are content to leave their children in public schools. This is aboutBOB HALL FOR - CINDY BURKETT AGAINST freedom of thought (conscience) and freedom of religion – natural God-given rights.

I am thankful Senator Bob Hall has been faithful to keep his promises and to follow the will of the State Republican Party platform.

Texas SD-2 Republican Candidates – How They Compare on Key Issues

Key Issues

Right to Life: a plank of the Texas GOP 2016 Platform [Item no. 88]BOB HALL FOR - CINDY BURKETT AGAINST

All innocent human life must be respected and safeguarded from fertilization to natural death; therefore, the unborn, the aged, and the physically or mentally challenged have a fundamental individual right to life, which cannot be infringed.

Parental Rights: a plank of the Texas GOP 2016 Platform [Item no. 101]BOB HALL FOR - CINDY BURKETT AGAINST

Parental Rights and Responsibilities- Local, state, or federal laws, regulations, or policies that limit parental rights in the rearing of both biological and adopted children shall not be enacted. Parents have the God given right and responsibility to direct and guide their children’s moral education.

School Choice: a plank of the Texas GOP 2016 Platform [Item no. 147]BOB HALL FOR - CINDY BURKETT AGAINST

With respect to these three key issues, Cindy Burkett consistently opposed the GOP platform and she aligned herself with House Speaker Joe Straus.

Texas Right to Life PAC reports Cindy Burkett as down to 72.58% pro-life in 2017. Rounding up, how can a lawmaker be 73% pro-life? Can a woman be 73% pregnant?

A lawmaker is either 100% pro-life (as per the GOP state platform) or the lawmaker is not.

Senator Bob Hall consistently voted 100% in support these three key planks of our GOP platform.

In years past, I block-walked for Cindy Burkett even though I was not in her district.

In the 2018 Republican primary, I will vote to re-elect the true conservative, Bob Hall.

ACLU Treachery Claims 2 Lives

The ACLU lied and manipulated the Judicial branch to create a right to abortion for an illegal-alien teenager. Read the full report from World Net Daily:

JUSTICE DEPARTMENT – ACLU LIED ABOUT ABORTION FOR ILLEGAL-ALIEN TEEN 11-6-2017

judges on the dc appellate court and their party affiliations
Active Judges on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit

According to a brief filed by the Department of Justice, the abortion was rushed to prevent the due process of justice that would have spared the life of the teen’s unborn child.

I applaud Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Department of Justice for standing for life.

Steve Bannon predicted it will take 50 years to fully drain the D.C. swamp and the D.C. appellate court is the poster child for removing leftist federal judges from office. The two charts, one above, the other below, reveal why unborn children will continue to be murdered in the womb.

dc appellate court partisan breakdown

ACLU treachery claimed two lives: the life of an innocent unborn child and the life of the teen mother who will die a thousand deaths over her lifetime.

Fairness vs. Justice

Fair?? I sometimes experience a gag reflex when I hear this word in a political context.

justice-v-fairness

One dictionary provides TEN definitions of the word ‘fair’; only one definition worth considering: free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice

I suggest we narrow the focus a bit from the broad-spectrum definitions of ‘fair’ and think instead on a very precise definition, the definition of ‘justice’.

Now, this focus on ‘justice’ is not to be misconstrued as the brand of justice witnessed in courts of law where justice and courts-of-law tend to be oxymoronic. Is my viewpoint Biblical? Read for yourself Matthew 5:25-26.

So, what is justice? Justice defined: the quality of being just;
righteousness, fairness, or moral rightness

In the 21st century lexicon, fairness is a socialist ideal that demands everyone receive the same rewards and benefits, regardless personal productivity.

Modern English Bibles like the NLT and the TLB use the words fair and fairness, but such translations do not put forth the Biblical concept of ‘just’ and ‘justice’.

Because God is just, he never shows partiality or favoritism and therefore does not practice fairness.

Fairness is an expression of equality or inequality among persons. Justice is an expression of merit or demerit of a person with respect to God himself. This is why courtroom justice which is based on human opinions is not the same as God’s just nature which is immutable and eternal.

Now John McCain Lambastes Nationalism?

Headline in The Hill: McCain blasts ‘half-baked, spurious nationalism‘ in emotional speech

The Arizona senator said “we live in a land made of ideals, not blood and soil” and said Americans “are the custodians of those ideals at home, and their champion abroad.” – The Hill

Correction, Senator John McCain: Our great nation was based on Biblical principles. The 1,196,554 military personnel who died in defense of our nation shed 1,495,692 gallons, paid the price of our freedoms.

Nationalism defined: devotion and loyalty to one’s own nation; patriotism

It was former Vice President Joe Biden who presented the National Constitution Center’s Liberty Medal to Senator McCain. How significant is this award? Previous recipients include the Dalai Lama, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), former Democratic presidential nominee what-does-it-matter-now Hillary Clinton and Pakistani human rights activist Malala Yousafzai.

Yes, John McCain, a new spirit of nationalism arises throughout the land and for this I thank God. It’s not spurious and yes, it is half-baked, but I can smell the finished product that’s coming out of the oven.

Racism – Birth of a Notion

What is race, in the anthropological sense?

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines The Human Race:

:all people :human beings as a group the history of the human race destructive weapons that could wipe out the (whole) human race

Can race be defined through analysis of DNA?

According to a Harvard University scientific report on race and origins,

…there is no evidence that the groups we commonly call “races” have distinct, unifying genetic identities. In fact, there is ample variation within races.

All the scientific papers I read on this subject uniformly say human beings are 99.9 BloodPoster-ItsAllTheSameToHimpercent identical genetically. African-American blood is fully compatible with a same-type blood of a blond-haired Swede or a black-haired Sioux Indian. Our organs are interchangeable. Between ethnic groups, the DNA molecule that defines the color and texture of our skin or eyes is identical, except for allenes, an infinitesimally tiny component of that gene.

So, the question of where the notion that one ethnic group is inferior to another must be answered and the answer can be found in a non-scientific theoretical book written by Charles Darwin titled:

1861_THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES by MEANS OF NATURAL SELECTION, or the PRESERVATION OF FAVOURED RACES IN THE STRUGGLE FOR LIFE

The essence of Darwin’s theory, with respect to humanity, is there are superior races and inferior races. This idea spawned and published by Charles Darwin was an important element of support for the Nazi persecution of people groups whom the Nazis thought inferior: Slavs, Jews, Gypsies, mentally defectives, etc.

American slave owners used Darwin’s theory of the origin of the species to justify slavery.

So the question must be asked: how many races of mankind are there? The answer: there is only one race of men. Ethnic backgrounds do not a man define. It is the culture that defines a man.

Slavs, Jews, African-Americans, orientals, Europeans and Hispanics/Latinos are all one race. Period.

Militant Atheism – A Peek Into The Future

Atheism isn’t a new phenomenon. Atheism is an ongoing war by Satan against God. God describes atheists in the Bible – “Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God. They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!”

A leading characteristic of militant atheism is reprobation: calling good evil and calling evil good. While claiming to support First Amendment freedoms of Religion and Speech, atheists stridently war against Christians to silence us.

Atheism is a religion.

Here’s a peek into the future: We win. They lose.
