Walgreen’s Bathroom Policy

Walgreen’s corporate policy as of 21 Nov. 2017, posted on the ACLU website. Link to policy WAG.POL.ERS-208.

“All individuals have a right to use restroom facilities that correspond to the individual’s gender identity, regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth.”

History of Walgreens

Charles R. Walgreen, Sr. established his first store in Illinois in 1901. Today, there are 8,100 stores across the continental United States and in Puerto Rico.

My Personal Experience with Walgreens

As a young child, the Walgreen’s store feature that drew me in was the soda fountain. Do you know the Walgreen coporation invented the malted milkshake?

Mom would take us to visit Aunt Lucille in New Orleans. As early as age 5, my younger sister Ginger and I, on our own, would hop aboard a New Orleans city bus for a ride down to Canal Street to visit the local Walgreens for a Cherry Phosphate. Mom wasn’t the least worried about us doing this and nothing untoward ever happened.

Political Correctness in Action

The ACLU of California pressured Walgreen’s to adopt this LGBTQ policy that welcomes men into women’s restrooms.

Transgenderism is a mental disorder. The World Health Organization (WHO) and professional psychiatry long recognized this to be so. However, political pressure from the ACLU and other leftist political organizations associated with the Democrat Party compelled a redefinition of the disorder. This new politically-correct position is said to destigmatize the mental condition in order “to reduce barriers to care”. If there is no disorder, why is there a need for psychiatric care?

In Summary

Professional psychiatrists will now say transgenderism isn’t a mental problem but still call it such for billing purposes. The redefinition will go into effect in May 2018.

It is astonishing that professional psychiatrists deem transgenderism not a mental illness while the suicide attempt rate is ten times the national rate of the rest of the population. Read more about this below.

Action

First and foremost, if you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, you are obligatged to intercede for transgender victims. I have to say it’s not a mental disorder. It’s a spiritual disorder.

The prevalence of suicide attempts among respondents to the National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS), conducted by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and National Center for Transgender Equality, is 41 percent, which vastly exceeds the 4.6 percent of the overall U.S. population who report a lifetime suicide attempt, and is also higher than the 10-20 percent of lesbian, gay and bisexual adults who report ever attempting suicide. – The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

The risk to vulnerable women and children is probably minimal, with respect to transgender people. The real danger will be from sexual predators who now have a license to prey upon easy targets.

Contact your local Walgreen’s store manager to express your concern over the transgender policy.

Why do I pray for California? I believe in miracles.

California is a mess and I sense God is moving Heaven and earth to turn that great state around.

Liberal policies declare California a ‘sanctuary state’. Sanctuary for whom? Consider the case of illegal alien Luis Bracamontes who admits to killing two deputies in 2014. In court before a judge, he recently pledged to break out of prison and kill even more. Read more via this link: http://cbsloc.al/2DGD5Dn

california sow the wind reap the whirlwind

Socialist policies have made the state a wasteland of homelessness. The homeless include groups of mentally ill people, unemployed workers, young adults seeking fame and fortune in Hollywood, and university students. Progressive (godless) California leaders have sown the wind and they shall surely reap the whirlwind.

So, what’s next?

What I call warm-and-fuzzy folks point to 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” That’s all it takes. Right? Wrong. Read this promise in context, starting with the preceding verse 13: ““When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The message is this: God uses life-threatening disasters to capture the attention of his children in order to turn them to Him.

At present, the North Korean tyrant Kim Jong Un threatens to launch nuclear bombs carried by intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM). Wildfires, floods, eight active volcanoes, and the collision of tectonic plates pose life-threatening dangers.

It’s entirely possible that spiritual revival could erupt any moment now, but it seems more probable God will use a natural disaster to move his people to their knees.

How do I pray for Californians? I plead for a replay of the Azusa Street Revival and the Jesus Movement. I ask God to remember the Christian minority and to be merciful for their sakes. Will you join me?

On being that virtuous woman while singing like a Bee Gee, “Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive”.

Oxygen-Mask

Contemporary women commonly feel overwhelmed (covered over) with responsibilities to care for her family, manage the household, participate in community affairs and work a job away from home. All too often, all these things devolve into a condition we call ‘nervous breakdown’.

‘Nervous breakdown’, according to the Mayo Clinic, is an unhealthy response to stress.

I have good news and bad news. The good news? Stress motivates us to improve performance. The bad news? Long-term stress has a deleterious effect on your health.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) points to two actions that will relieve stress: relaxation and setting priorities.

Specific to women, instead of the yoga recommended by NIMH, I suggest starting your day by reading the Bible, meditating, and praying. Please understand the difference between a Bible study and reading the Bible. A Bible study increases your knowledge and a daily reading of the Bible will cleanse and sanctify you [Ephesians 5:25-26].

A point to ponder: God identifies wisdom and the church as feminine.

Wisdom: “knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action”

So, we have a simple plan to start the day with a “washing of water with the word”, quiet meditation and prayer. These steps will take care of the matter of relaxation. Let’s move on to the matter of setting priorities.

No doubt you have flown on a commercial airplane. The FAA requires safety instruction at the beginning of all commercial flights. What is the instruction on oxygen masks? That’s right: PUT YOUR MASK ON FIRST. Why? If you don’t take care of your self FIRST, you will be unable to care for anyone else.

Can you handle a little more from the Bible? If yes, then I urge you to read Proverbs 31:10-31 in more than one version. You will begin to discern a pattern. The Virtuous Woman has priorities. First, she takes care of herself. Second, she takes care of her family. Third, she takes care of the remainder of her duties, even working outside the home or running a home-based business.

Virtuous: “agreeing with or following moral and ethical principles;
morally excellent”

All you have read up to this point is not written to support one man’s theory on how a woman should live. I’ve lived nearly a half-century with a virtuous woman who follows the Biblical model – my wife, a mother of four children, who is my business partner of over 30 years.

Philippians 4:13 (Amplified version) says, “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”

Can you handle it? Yes, you can! Just remember to put on your oxygen mask first before others who may need your assistance.
