Since the beginning of recorded human history, homosexual acts -aka Sodomy – have been known as a “crime against nature”. Now, special rights have been created out of thin air by federal judges to the point that Christians are punished to the point of bankruptcy and imprisonment for refusing to provide services to homosexuals when said services violate their consciences. To underscore the fact of these extraconstitutional special rights, homosexuals can refuse service to Christians.
Let’s pause at this point to assert the good news that the leftist news media fail to report. Rampant immorality and unpatriotic behaviors by Hollywood and pro-athlete luminaries do not represent the broad worldview and values of our fellow Americans.
What is the evidence of my assertion? Consider these headlines.
The Democrat Party leadership assumes ownership of Latinos, Hispanics, and African-Americans. The polls prove otherwise and I mean election polls, not biased media polls.
Here’s even more and better good news as reported in Romans 5:20-21 “… where sin increased, [God’s remarkable, gracious gift of] grace [His unmerited favor] has surpassed it and increased all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness which brings eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God is on His Throne. Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Prayer changes things. And, God never changes, or as it is written in Amos 3:6, “…I am the Lord, I do not change…” and also in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Yes, there is a falling away from our church congregations as this was prophesied almost 2,000 years ago. However, the time is coming when every knee will bow to God and every person alive will confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
The bad news is going to worsen and when the good news comes to pass, we will be rejoicing.
The numbers cry out for answers. Why are more people, per capita, locked up in the USA than any other nation on the face of the earth? Click on the link below the to enlarge the view.
Any ordinary American would expect the people whom we incarcerate to come out of prison better than what they were when locked away from society. Some do come out better people, but on the dark side, petty criminals tend to become well-trained, crafty, dangerous criminals and this lends well to explain high recidivism rates.
Consider these facts about prison gangs.
The Aryan Brotherhood is a product of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). This well-organized gang has a written constitution and five generals who direct criminal enterprises inside and outside prison walls.
Like cancer, the Aryan Brotherhood metastasized. This gang is now active beyond Texas borders
. Favored symbols include the Nazi swastika. Unlike cancer, their tattoos make them easy to detect. Known for being ‘white supremacists’, they are pragmatic criminals who work well with Latino and African-American gangs.
The important fact you should know is this: the Aryan brotherhood wasn’t spawned by criminals in the community; it was spawned inside Texas prison walls.
This gang was birthed in Los Angeles County jail where criminal illegal immigrants chiefly from El Salvador learned the ropes from fellow prisoners. Today, MS-13 has members from other Central American countries and the gang operates in every major city in every state in the Union. Their crimes are vicious beyond description.
MS-13 members that were deported built a criminal enterprise in their native country of El Salvador where even the government fears them. Deportations of these hardened criminals further exacerbate civil unrest in El Salvador, leading to more people fleeing that the Banana Republic in search of a better life in the United States.
As throwing debtors into prison did not help the lenders, throwing non-violent lawbreakers into jails and prisons does not contribute to the general welfare of the population as a whole.
Prisons notoriously transform petty non-violent criminals into hardened dangerous criminals who go on to perpetrate greater offenses after release from prison.
First: It’s time to unleash Christian ministries. As the Bible says, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Second: Let’s end the practice of using jails and prisons to punish nonviolent lawbreakers. The only persons who should be locked away are those who are sure to harm persons or property if allowed to go free.
Former prisoners face formidable barriers to returning to civil society. Who will hire them?
Back to the first answer, I point to CARE Center Ministries and the head of that highly successful ministry that focuses on the least, the last, and the lonely, the poorest of the poor. I’ve known the head of CARE Center Ministries about 30 years. Today, the ministry has branches in Birmingham AL, Managua Nicaragua, and Mountain Home Arkansas.
Pastor Eldred Sawyer’s disciples are living proof that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. His ministry proves there is a better more effective way to restore lives than any prison.
God has been in the business of turning sinners into saints from the beginning of mankind. He never went into retirement.
For the record, businessman Donald Trump was duly elected to the office of President of the United States of America. Even before taking the oath of office on January 20, 2017, enemies in the form of fake news, Democrat skulduggery, and establishment Republican push back seem to labor in concert to defeat the agenda of President Trump. The most insidious enemy of this president is the establishment political machines of both parties.
Yesterday evening, August 3, 2017, a double rainbow appeared over the White House following a storm.
Barack Obama bathed the White House with a fake rainbow to celebrate his promotion of homosexuality. But God did not create the rainbow to celebrate evil.
After Noah’s ark came to rest on the solid ground and Noah’s family were safe from the great flood, God made a covenant with Noah, his family, and all his descendants. We pick up the post-flood story in Genesis chapter 9, verses 12 through 17 [NLT].
Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.” Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”
The political storm isn’t over and God’s promises are sure. Evil forces have been chipping away at the very foundations of the Republic from the beginning of our existence as a nation. We are in a spiritual war that culminates before our eyes. Has this war on freedom hit its zenith? By no means.
Now the good news: President Trump is keeping his promises to the American people.
What can we do? By ‘we’, I mean God-fearing, Bible-believing Christians.
Let’s not forget God is on his throne and prayer changes things
Know that the rainbow is not Satan’s banner of triumph, it is God’s way of reminding us of his unbreakable covenant with us.
Pray fervently for God to pour out his spirit on America to awaken and encourage the people of God to engage the enemy in spiritual warfare.
Put on your spiritual armor of God | Ephesians 6:11
Pray for all in authority from local governments to the White House, Supreme Court, and Congress. | 1 Timothy 2:2
Submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. | Romans 8:14
Expect great outcomes from our unified prayers. | Jeremiah 33:3
Instead of cursing political opponents, pray for them. It was this solemn action that delivered Job out of his dilemma. | Job 42:10
If you are not a God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian, you can become one. In an instant of time. Follow these steps.
Confess your sins. | Romans 3:23
Accept this truth: God sent his Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins to atone for them. | Romans 5:8
Call on the Name of Jesus Christ to save you from your sins. Believe in your heart that God forgives you and confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior.| Romans 10:9-10
Let’s set up a historical parallel to our present situation.
Over one million Jews were enslaved in Egypt. Life was miserable for the Jews. The heavy hand of bloated Egyptian government oppressed them. They cried out for help and God heard them.
Their miserable situation didn’t develop overnight and deliverance didn’t happen overnight either. In fact, Moses was at least 80 years of age when he got the call to lead his fellow Jews out of Egypt.
Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Moses became a human wrecking ball that messed up the establishment, politically and religiously.
Through a series of miraculous events, Pharoah got to the point he wanted the Jews out of Egypt. He was for it before he was later against it. (I just had to say this.) Moving on.
Life radically changed. Overnight. Those Jews were accustomed to the socialistic regime of Pharoah. So it was that a groundswell of discontent caused Moses’ favorability rating to drop like a rock. The opposition called for his impeachment and they wanted it now!
God, you see, wasn’t the least pleased by the rebellion fomented by the opposition. He was at the point of destroying every last Jew in the crowd, but God’s 80-year-old human wrecking ball stood in the gap and so it came to pass that today Israel is the most amazing nation on the face of the earth. First in technology, first in innovative agriculture, first in Nobel awards – this is what happens when God’s man has his hand on the rudder of the ship of state.
Here we are, 3,463 years after “Wrecking Ball” Moses got the Jews out of Egypt. It wasn’t easy then. Moses got the Jews out of Egypt, but he couldn’t get Egypt out of the Jews!
Bringing this story up to date, it’s the year of our Lord 2017. On May 18 at 5:30 am, national debt stands at $19,863,496,001,447. We are a stone’s throw away from hitting $20 Trillion.
The Bible says the borrower is a servant to the lender. This astronomical national debt is unsustainable. We can NEVER pay down this debt, even if the IRS took every last cent we earn.
Something has to change.
God raised up another “human wrecking ball” in the person of businessman Donald Trump. He knows what to do and when to do it, but our modern-day suffragettes, establishment politicians and bureaucrats, don’t want us delivered from the situation.
Here’s why I retain hope. As recorded in Numbers chapter 16, an evil triad of rebel leaders conspired to unseat Moses. In the process of Organizing For Action, calls for Moses’ impeachment hit the high mark.
What followed wasn’t a pretty picture. If God doesn’t intervene now, very soon, America will likewise not be a pretty picture.
I pray the Holy Spirit awakens believers and convicts unbelievers. This is spiritual war, so put on the Whole Armor of God and go to battle for our nation.
Fact no. 1: The ACLU stridently opposes bills in the Texas Legislature crafted to protect vulnerable Texas children. Specifically HB 3859 and SB6; the first to prevent homosexuals from either fostering or adopting children in the care of the State, the second to protect vulnerable women and children from sexual predators in restrooms, locker rooms, and dressing rooms.
Fact no. 2: In the worldview of Muslims, homosexuality is as unacceptable as it is in the worldview of Christians. References: Qur’an 4:15, 4:16
Fact no. 3: The national political director of the ACLU is a devout Muslim, Faiz Shakir.
Contrast the outrageous claims of Barack Obama, who likens radical Islam to Christianity, with Fox News panelists and American Christian leaders.
Islamic reality in Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Afghanistan where Muslims mercilessly murder and persecute Christians. The above video clarifies untruths (aka lies) voiced by Islamists in this country.
If Islamists activists prevail in their all-out assault on Christianity, using LGBTQ activists, the ACLU, and atheists in their cause, even this blog will be criminalized.
The political strategy of the ACLU isn’t at all confusing when you have all the facts.
On which subject did Jesus Christ teach most often? Was it money? No. Was it adultery? Not that either.
The top subject of Jesus’ teachings is the Kingdom of God, aka the Kingdom of Heaven. A New Testament word search of the 21st Century King James Version (no, I haven’t researched all versions) yields a count of 125 instances of the topic of money and 164 instances of the topic of the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. Counting further, Jesus used the phrase ‘my kingdom’ three times and the phrase ‘His kingdom’ (referring to God’s kingdom) 12 times. In all, Jesus referred to the Kingdom of God 179 times.
Inarguably, peace is the most sought commodity anywhere on the earth. The most sought coin by coin collectors is the Eisenhower Peace silver dollars, according to the U.S. Coin Guide.
There is the lesser kingdom of drug addiction that rules the lives of its legal and illegal subjects.
Deep in the heart of the Kingdom of Pot in northern California, congregants depart this for a more durable peace in the Kingdom of God.
As recorded in John 14:27 (NLT), Jesus said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Pot users flock to Arcata, California to find fleeting peace through pot and wind up finding everlasting peace through a local portal into the Kingdom of God.
Speaking to doubting Thomas, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
Are you desperate for peace today? I have good news! You don’t have to travel to Arcata, California to find it. Jesus is omnipresent. He’s waiting for you to open your heart to him.
In August of 1974, I was unemployed and in a desperate situation. I told my wife, “I don’t know what to do.” She said we needed to go to church. After a divine encounter with the Creator of the Universe, the King of kings, I became a new creature. Changes began overnight and continue these many years later on.
As I move into my twilight years, I don’t fear death; I just want others to experience this radical peace only found in the Kingdom of God.
Call on him while you can. There comes a time when it will be too late.
Mosul is in the news—the Iraqi forces believe they have ISIS surrounded and will defeat them in this city in the very near future. One of our staff working at the Samaritan’s Purse Field Trauma Hospital sent this incredible report. It’s long, but it is gripping and I hope you will read it. – Franklin Graham
—My first day at the emergency field hospital just east of Mosul, Iraq was very much like my last day. Mortar strikes on civilians, children bloody and broken, black bags to hold the dead. The slow, solemn walk, cradling a ten-year-old in my arms, counting the steps to the morgue. Laying someone’s son down on cold gravel, reading his name one last time on the death certificate taped to the body bag.
Time of death 18:17.
I’ll never forget the sounds of his dying. The rattling and the gurgling. I’ll never forget the songs we sung over him, the prayers strangled by grief and sorrow. The tear stained cheeks and our righteous anger. I’ll never forget the faraway look on his precious face. I’ll never forget his face. What was left of it.
Many of us were strangers a week before, two days before. Strangers taking care of other strangers. One set from the west, a land of peace and prosperity, one set from northern Iraq, a region ravaged by terrorism and war. And now here we all were, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, translators, construction workers, administrators, and HR reps. One and all hearts turned inside out and taking care of the dying while other new friends fight for the living in mobile operating theaters a few hundred feet away.
That last night may have been the worst. The toddler with ribs exposed from mortar wounds. 9 children in one day. But there were other days, other nights when I thought my heart might die. The toddlers with their feet shot off. The whole families targeted by drone strikes. The burnt and blackened restaurant patrons, victims of a suicide bomber. One night in particular I carried five children to the morgue. It leaves you breathless, concussed. The mortar of sorrow, a direct shot to the soul.
I’m processing, I’m free bleeding my heart and thoughts here so I don’t explode and because I don’t have the luxury of denial. I cannot separate my belief in a good and sovereign God and the suffering of innocence. If there is no reconciling the two than I am lost. We all are. Especially Christians, fools to be pitied of all men.
But what we found there, behind those blast walls, with the ceaseless drums of artillery fire, the strangled song of the whine and wail of one ambulance after another, was that hope is not a thing you wish for, it is the only thing afloat in a raging sea of chaos. It is what you hold on to, what holds on to you so you do not go under the relentless waves of grief. And we found that you hold on to each other. And you pray like gasping for your last breath. And you plead with heaven, even when heaven is silent. And you raise your broken hearts together in a pitiful little petition, more whimpers than words, and you beg, unified in grief, “Jesus please…..”
The Bible says that suffering produces hope. A comical, sadist thought when the belly is full and the sun of our futures never sets, always shines on our glorious destinies. But when the night never ends, when the morgue is full, when evil seems to be laughing in every shadow, on those nights you somehow see it. Suffering produces hope in this way: when terrorism and hate and the cancer of evil spreads over all that is good with a blight of darkness, the light still does not go out. There is a flame in the hearts of those who have known the love of God. There is a song of praise that is not stalled on their lips, is not silenced. There is a light in the inner places of those who have heard the Word of Life and believed. This is the flower of hope that grows in the garden of souls by heaven’s Holy seed. This is the hope that springs eternal, because it has always existed, always will exist apart from the human stain, in the Holy heart of God.
Suffering produces hope in the same way bomb blasts produce the broken bodies of children. It is the inevitability, the cause and the effect of universal laws. But only one will remain. Hope will swallow grief one day because Love will conquer all. But Hope is inevitable in us only when we trust, against our own instincts, in the goodness of God and allow ourselves to be taken deep into our own human frailty, far past vulnerability to the point of despair. And in that wasteland of our utter uselessness, in that wilderness of our unraveling, God is there, He is faithful, He alone, as He has always been, is holding the universe together and simultaneously holds us in the palm of His hand.
That is the only hope: that God holds His own in the palm of His hands while they yet suffer. And that the insatiable hunger of the mouth of Hell cannot devour the ragtag, broken band of believers called the church.
In the picture above I hold in my hand a 50 caliber bullet taken from the body of a pre-teen boy. An ISIS sniper shot him because their’s is an ideology of fear. They target the weak, not just because the weak are a low-hanging fruit, but because most of us are weak. Most of us are trying to live our simple lives in peace. ISIS needs capitulation. They need submission. A sniper bullet in the side of a child reminds us the world is not at peace and things are not simple. It reminds us that suffering isn’t a concept, that no abstraction paralyzed this young man. It reminds us that we are fragile and vulnerable. It reminds us that to walk the way of love our hearts will be obliterated by suffering.
And so against all hope we hope, that Love will one day conquer all. But not human love. Only God’s selfless love, for with it carries His perfect all-powerful justice and the promise and ability to make all things new. Godspeed that day. Especially for the precious children of Mosul.
